Restaurant automation service by phone app.
We have apps to allow you to order pick up and delivery. But what if we had an app for dining in, at any Restaurant?
A restaurant uses the service and gets listed on the app. Which of course has a navigation feature. It does the wait list and reservations and notifies you when your table is ready. It knows what table your sitting at. It has the menu and takes your orders. You can call the wait staff through it. You pay the bill on the app.
All so restaurants can save money by eliminating staff and other various expenses. All the wait staff does is show you to a table and bring things to the table. Everything else is done through the app. The service is paid for by a small cut of every customer's bill.

We are currently supporting more than 200 Cloud resources. And keep adding more resources.

- Are there any orphaned/abandoned/unused resources for which you are paying?
Explainer video: https://youtu.be/j83DPTdbTPkWhat life cycle stage is your startup at?: Currently we have finished the MVP and interviewing DevOps/Cloud engineers to understand the feedback.
What goals are you trying to reach this month?:10 users willing to try the product and provide feedback. Grow waitlist to 30.

I’m currently a cloud engineer , how is this different from aws config ?
•
u/heldsteel7 Jul 08 '21 edited Jul 08 '21
Thanks for taking out time to read our post. Frankly we get this question a lot.
On the onset CloudYali and AWS Config looks similar, and which is correct. CloudYali is currently focusing on resource inventory problem alone. That is the pain we faced during our operations and which prompted us to write this tool.
I’m myself is a cloud engineer and there were many situations where I/my team wanted to have a complete inventory of AWS Resources. Our environment is bit complex with multiple accounts and supporting (almost) all regions. Obviously we turned to AWS Config for solution, along with many open sources. Last year I wrote a blog on this quest to help engineers searching for such tools.
The problems we faced was multifold:The coverage: AWS Config being a native service one would expect it to cover (almost) all the AWS resources. Unfortunately, the reality is far from being that. The AWS Config coverage is far too less. Even for the AWS services that it supports, there are many resources which are not kept track of it by AWS Config. You can see from the AWS Config page that, even common AWS services like Route53 and more are not supported by AWS Config. In fact, support for AWS’s oldest service SQS was added only in 2020.
At the moment, AWS Config in all support ~102 AWS Resources, while Terraform supports ~630 AWS Resources , CloudFormation supports ~ 330 AWS Resources. This translates the coverage to < 30% when compared to CF and < 20% when compared to Terraform. Often the complaint about CF is that it lags way behind Terraform. Considering that, the asset inventory forms the foundation for cost, security and management, this lack of coverage is somewhat discouraging.
The AWS services (list of all AWS services) are expanding at rapid speed and AWS Config is unable to keep up with the pace.
Usability: AWS Config service is regional. This means you need to remember to enable AWS Config in each region for each account. To find any resources, across AWS accounts and regions, we need to configure aggregators and use that, which unnecessarily complicate the whole operations. Another use of AWS Config is to maintain the resource change history. This is achieved through recorders. This again requires specific configuration.
Hence we thought of writing a solution to address the inventory part of AWS Config to begin with. We want to have broad coverage of AWS Resources to ensure we provide a complete picture. Currently we have added support for ~ 250 AWS Cloud Resources. We plan to keep increasing this coverage in step by step manner.
The way CloudYali is designed, it works across multiple accounts and regions by default. User need not make any configuration changes. The same applies for the resource change history.
The Cloudyali UI shows all the configuration changes over a visual timeline, where a simple click on the timeline shows the changes present at that time. In yet another interesting feature, we maintain the lifetime of the AWS Resources as well. That means, even though the resources are removed from the cloud, it would still be possible to view those resources (which are marked as “dead”) and view their configuration change timeline as if it is a live/active resource.
You may take a look at 3 min demo of our product at : https://youtu.be/j83DPTdbTPk
In yet another feature, which is under development right now, it would be possible to find resources with their properties (e.g. all EC2 instances with instance type t2.micro) through a simple intuitive search box. This functionality is available in AWS Config via SQL queries.
In short, we want to make AWS Cloud discovery and querying/viewing for engineers a painless and intuitive operation.
With your feedback we would certainly be able to achieve this goal. Please do visit our website and signup for a free preview access. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to answer! Thanks for your time!

Startup Name / URL:
Location of Your Headquarters:
London
Elevator Pitch/Explainer Video:
A platform to connect solo travelers. We plan to do this by:
Giving solo travelers a way to see other verified travelers who will be crossing paths with them on their travels.
Chat functionality and personal profiles to help travelers meet like minded travelers that have compatible traveling styles.
A secure process to split costs for accommodation, and other expenses such as group tours or vehicle hire.
More details:
Currently in the discovery stage, trying to learn about my target market and to see if theres a problem here that needs solving.
I'm the technical co-founder (1 other co-founder, no employees)
What goals are you trying to reach this month?
This month, I'm trying to get at least 50 responses to my survey, and at least 10 alpha users.
This is turning out a little harder than I expected, because I was planning to use Reddit to target people but a lot of the subs that overlap well with my target market have rules against self promotion. I don't really have a network to tap into here so some advice would be awesome. I'm considering going down the paid ad route but I'm not sure if paid ads is an effective way to get pre-launch signups
Discount for r/startup subscribers?
There are no discounts specific to r/startup. We're still early days but we will be offering exclusive deals to our alpha users. You can sign up to be an alpha user by completing our survey

Is this solving a real problem? I can tell you as a real estate agent, this does not seem like it actually solves the problem as pictures alone do not show how good a property is.
There are other issues in the real estate industry that I think should be more deeply looked at, but you may have gotten great feedback. If no feedback, feel free to ping me and we can discuss in more detail off line.

We are Splitcart
We are located and work in Bettendorf, IA which is part of the Quad Cities.
Splitcart is a new and unique cost sharing app on the Apple App Store. Our service eliminates the ongoing problems consumers have when trying to figure out how to split the cost, communicate with each other, and collect payment from everyone involved in the group purchase. Shop, Split, Ship all in one app. With Splitcart no one needs to front the cost of a purchase and you now can avoid the awkward hassle of chasing down people for their share of a purchase, or a gift. Our process is done in three easy steps. We are affiliated with Walmart and Best Buy, where you can shop their millions of products on our app. Once you have chosen an item and created your Splitcart, you can send the invite which is a shareable link to those you want or need to contribute. You can share this link via text, social media, and more. Even those without an Apple device can contribute with the link through our web app. Once everyone has contributed their share, the payments process, the item is funded, and it ships. We believe in making group purchasing easy, efficient, less stressful, and fun.
What life cycle stage is your startup at?
We have been working through different iterations of the app and getting to a point we love and are happy with, but we have yet to market our app/business as we continue to improve our service. We have also just released a major update to our app that allows for a new user experience and simpler way to split the cost of an item or gift.
Your Role?
I am the Graphic Designer of our team. I do the marketing design and much of the UI design of our app.
How could r/startups help?
We would love for this community to try our app and give us any feedback that you have. We are open to advice on app marketing, user growth and better ways to advertise our service.
Discount for r/startup subscribers?
We are a free to download app, and for this community we want to offer $20 to a splitcart you create to the first 100 who create them. Just leave a comment of the link to your Splitcart and we will get it started!

Make Repeatable checklists, and stop forgetting things
Hi, I'm Spencer and I built this app to help with my ADHD. I found myself forgetting things more and more after the birth of my son. I wanted a solution, so I built this app. Now I run through CheckYourList and am confident I have everything I need.

This is such an interesting angle. I can't imagine how much edge cases you're going to have to deal with though.
What sort of feedback are you looking for?
•
u/Jevz7 Jul 10 '21
Thanks a lot!
Yeah it's almost like we find a new edge case every day 😅. Luckily we have a few pre-launch users that are helping us identifying them and helping us think of ways to handle them elegantly.
One of the biggest issues we have so far is the whole getting users as well as businesses to sign up simultaneously, since we work as a type of "marketplace". So we can't really have one without the other.
Feedback we're looking for:
General - Landing page feedback Other suggestions and or comments
Businesses and investors - What pain points could you forsee using a service such as this?
Businesses - How do you convince your users to sign up for yearly subscriptions instead of monthly? If you offer discount, how much is the average?
Investors- How much of a return would you want before you'd consider using a service like this?

With 168 comments, I’d respectfully suggest that Contest Mode makes it too difficult to fairly assess new entrants. The comments are randomized, and I can’t go through that many comments daily. I’d like to be able to sort through and find all the new ones, and track those.
