Bro just got deal of the week. $44 to feed 8 people (assuming they ain’t all for him) is the best deal in fast food.

u/QuackQuack227 Jun 24 '25
16 people bc they’re all footlongs, theoretically this person could feed himself 2 meals for 8 days for only $44ðŸ˜

Yeah even the Beast sandwich I can eat a whole one of those which has double of everything on it pretty much. Unless you're taking ozympic that decreases your appetite then a 6-in maybe. There's been times where I've done the BOGO and even after the full sandwich I'm still hungry and then I'll eat a half of the second one LOL.

16 people? I count 8. I don't know anyone that eats half a sandwich and calls it quits. Children maybe?

But i eat 95% thru a tube in my stomach. So I have an excuse. Lol

Tip?? For what? You're just doing the job you get paid from your employer to do. It's not like you're a waiter or delivery driver 🤣
3
u/Deathbyillusion Jun 27 '25
You get paid minimum wage or over minimum wage. I feel if someone's getting paid minimum wage or over minimum wage and they're not a server bringing you food and getting you drinks then there should be no need for a tip. Your job for Subway is to make sandwiches for people.
Servers only make a few dollars an hour and so they rely on the tips so it's good to tip them.
Like it really irks me at these yogurt places where they ask for tips when they're not doing anything but checking you out at the counter and you're doing all the work why would they get a tip. I think tipping has gotten overboard lately.

Bad opinion. I run an entire store by myself. I do more than a waiter or waitress 10 fold.
1
u/Deathbyillusion Jun 28 '25
I can kind of get that. Sure tips would always be nice in any job you work that may warrent it. I do food delivery or deliver merchandise using my own car adding wear and tear. But I just expect ok this is the pay I'm going to get and expect not to get a tip which 90 percent of the time especially the merchandise delivery because I think you work for that company so they don't tip.I feel though you applied and were hired knowing what your job set was and you could of declined knowing what you would have to do based off your pay and ask myself if this is worth it.
But if you run the entire store yourself you should either ask for a raise for all the extra work you do and that worse they could say is no and or you could look for somewhere else while still working for them that will pay you for what your worth.
Also a lot of waiters or waitresses can develop carpal tunnel syndrome from carrying those big heavy trays food over their heads all the time too.
Yes I'm sure you pull out trays with bread and stuff on it which may not be as heavy but you're also not carrying it the same way a waiter or waitress would.
I feel that waiters have to have more experience in customer service and speedyness than someone making a sandwich for somebody. Because all you are asking them is what you want on their sandwich. A waiter or waitress they have to keep making sure that the customers happy and checking up on them, filling drink refills, making sure their orders go out on time to the customer etc.
It's interesting though I've heard that waiters and waitresses in Canada will get minimum wage plus tips. Which I think is fair. I feel like hearing the US just because you're getting tips doesn't mean that the company's like oh okay we're going to pay you less because you get tips.

Oh my goodness I hate when this happens I’m so sorry, this sucks ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

u/SpooksMcGee8790 Jun 24 '25
Yup. Not even a dime in tips either, and people sometimes wonder why the employees aren't a fan of em.

The extra work I wouldn't have to do if you hadn't walked in or ordered an online order. Got plenty to do even if I never see a customer all day.
Baking the bread, making the cookies, restocking, prepping, dishes, cleaning, sweeping/mopping, making sure the right $20k+ machines are on/off at the right times, etc etc etc.
Boss pays me to keep the store in tip top shape. You as the customer are paying me to give you a service I can rightfully deny if you try to be a karen on me. If you want special requests you better damn tip or I'm ignoring them, and will just default to the subway standard formula on everything. And just take a look at how stingy that subway formula is, you can see it on the left side of that very picture. 6 olive slices for a footlong lmao.
Boss also hates people who use BOGOs so she won't give one shit if you never come back. If someone ordered 8 subs and 4 were free, she'd skimp them so hard so if anything you should tip me because I'd actually at least give you what you supposedly paid for when I have the choice not to. Really, you need to be smart and make sure the people who are responsible for making your food are not pissed off.
One of the dumbest things you can do in the world is pissing that person off.

u/chickitaenthusiast Jun 25 '25
this is your job. i don’t pay your wage. LMAO subway does. you work for them. which they contracted the order to then which subway contracted you to make. you don’t need a tip bud i’m sorry but u don’t. i used to work at subway myself. if the pay is not enough go elsewhere

u/XLoDzX Jun 26 '25
You must be young. Ah, I remember being naive thinking that I'm important working a fast food job. When you get older you'll realize you're only a cog in the system and easily replaceable.

idk subways different i guess becausebthey are franchises who most are struggling to survive
3
u/chickitaenthusiast Jun 24 '25
you have time to take a picture? That means you got time to make the sandwiches and you ain’t need no preparation time😂😂😂😂

u/Actual_Squid Jun 24 '25
There's being frugal and there's being cheap

u/_littlest_limejuice_ Jun 24 '25
It's fast food? Of course people use coupons to their advantage.

96 inches in sandwiches without tipping is a POS move. Full stop.
1
u/chickitaenthusiast Jun 28 '25
yeah so is the 45 pieces of pizza that i ordered for carryout too. #dramaqueen. it’s 8 sandwiches LMAO
-1
u/iDaytone Jun 28 '25
Would also expect a tip on a pizza order with 5+ pizzas, albeit that’s still considerably less work than 8 foot long sandwiches.
1
0
u/chickitaenthusiast Jun 28 '25
i’d actually say it’s equivalent work and you ain’t getting a tip for the pizzas i’m picking up LOL.
0
u/iDaytone Jun 28 '25
You clearly haven’t worked food before. Pizzas take 1-3 minutes to prep and 15-20 minutes to cook. Sandwiches need to be cooked midway through the process, not to mention you don’t have time for each one to cook before you make another one. Sandwiches have to be made one at a time. Either your, way contempt for the people that make your food is incredibly pathetic and you should reflect on why you can’t stand to tip someone you expect to feed you, especially if it’s a large order.

When I was single and in my 20s Subway was still doing the $5 footlong promotion, so I would routinely go in there and order 4 identical sandwiches (Subway Club with American cheese, honey mustard and all the veggies, still my favorite to this day) for $20. Multiple days worth of food with no grocery store trip or cooking needed, perfect for my single dude lifestyle of going to work all day and coming home to play video games all night. I did always tip well and tried to go at less busy times of day so I wasn't holding up the lunch or dinner rush.

u/Damjammer410 Jul 08 '25
This is why we hate coupons for those wondering. People need to stop abusing them like this.

u/ThreeEggsInATortilla Jul 16 '25
I had that with a lady, 6 footlongs, 4 ham and 2 CCC. No tip and rolled her eyes when I told her it would take a while when I was already swamped and very clearly had a line to work with as well.

u/weirdtickplayer Jun 24 '25
It’s shit like this that makes Franchise-owner hate corporations 8foot long floor $44. Smh

u/capacity38 Jun 24 '25
That used to cost $40. Just saying.

about like 10 actually. now the 6 inch is being advertised as 4.99. so 50% decrease in food for the same price. zero excuse

asshole for not tipping. I know it's optional but thats 8 subs during dinner peak, right before close, and all split between different orders. I would be pissed. Plus thats like half a container of tuna at least.

u/chickitaenthusiast Jun 24 '25

u/chickitaenthusiast Jun 24 '25
how r they an asshole for not tipping.
-1
u/iDaytone Jun 25 '25
They ordered 8 foot long sandwiches. They are absolutely an asshole for not tipping. You’re asking 2-3 people to prepare almost 100 inches in sandwich, not knowing what other orders they’re receiving, and not leaving a tip. Only an oblivious dumbfuck would question why an employee would be upset at this.
4
u/chickitaenthusiast Jun 25 '25
it’s eight sandwiches so when someone makes a togo order at the pizza restaurant they should tip because it’s over 45 pieces of pizza. sound dramatic af with your littile over 100 inches. do the scoops of tuna and stack the veggies. lazy pos of accoeted a job that has a livable wage and EXPECTING tips LMAOOOOOOO thats y yall don’t get tipped. it shouldn’t be expected. your pay reflects in your paycheck!! hope this helps! -past subway worker.
