Rhetorical Hyperbole Never feel safe leaving the basement, but the dino nuggies smell too good to resist.
How many of you clear your house like an absolute dork? For me its almost daily. My wife adds the needed stress factor by yelling a bunch of nonsense about “helping with the kids”….Anyways, get your reps in kings💪

It’s all fun and games, until you pull that trigger and lose the gun.

I would assume it'd stick in the drywall and then you have a mounted shotgun!

Girlfriend is out with her "Good" boyfriend? Better believe I'm checking for Tangos! Want the house safe for them before I go back to the basement and put on my Sordins and watch Blackhawk Down again!

Bro is holding his scattergat like he's a Fallujah vet clearing a ziggurat with a 20 inch musket.

This shit looks ridiculous. They have to hold the thing so far from their faces to keep their teeth that they aren't even saving any space. With an AR you can jam your nose into the receiver if you have to, the recoil isn't gonna hurt you, but with a shotgun it doesn't make any sense.

Hahaha OP you should really try firing that shotgun like that and then see where it goes.

It's really not hard to shoot a shotgun without shouldering it lol. People do it all the time with shotguns that don't have a stock like shockwaves and breaching style shotguns

1) don't. If you're going to try this, you need to get some meat behind it to absorb recoil. Right now you've got nothing behind it, you're just gripping along it with your trigger hand. That video you're linking, they rotate way out like that so they can get their palm behind the pistol grip still for some recoil management and have it way out from their head.
2) if you do anyway, please film and post it.
Its all kind of pointless. This technique is good with the M4 but with a shotgun you end up in a compromised position to make the space to keep your teeth. The better option is to tuck the butt into your arm pit. It makes you look a bit like you think you're a gangster, but you have better control and movement if you just shorten up to clear a corner.

My 1301 hasn’t left the basement either. It said it’s scared.

To be fair, I don’t think it’d dove hunt as well as my 28” Remington. 🤣

All the off shoulder comments...
Yall never breached a door with a shorty, and it shows.

Hopefully this post can be educational for a lot of people. I think shotguns unfortunately have the most myths surrounding them.

You’re supposed to turn the shotgun 90° if you’re going to do that. The stock should be flat against the top of your shoulder.

Ive shot the gun like this and im fine. Theres usually more than one way to skin a cat.

u/collegekid1357 6h ago
Well the video you posted that you got this from shows holding it at 90°, not like you have it.

u/juan_wick762 6h ago
Right but thats just one example for the people saying the gun will fly out of my hands. Im going to shoot it like this and upload a video to youtube this afternoon and post the link here so hopefully it can be educational for people who may have less experience shooting shotguns.

Uf, short stocking a 12 gauge sounds like a good idea until you pull the trigger. RIP jaw/cheek as that thing comes rocketing back.

For some reason i get the feeling you’ve never tried it. Idk why so many instructors teach it in shotgun courses.

Rookie mistake. You gotta send the robot dog to get the dino nuggies for you.
