It’s only propaganda when other countries do it but not the United States 🙄

A KGB spy and a CIA agent meet up in a bar for a friendly drink.

"I have to admit, I'm always so impressed by Soviet propaganda. You really know how to get people worked up," the CIA agent says.

"Thank you," the KGB says. "We do our best but truly, it's nothing compared to American propaganda. Your people believe everything your state media tells them."

The CIA agent drops his drink in shock and disgust. "Thank you friend, but you must be confused... There's no propaganda in America."

And no propaganda. Good work, citizen!

Assuming you are American, you’re able to actually say things like that. Soviets were not.

America bathes in freedom while those evil commies get sent to the gulag for having thoughts! Only America is truly free!

Yes citizen! YES!

well that's the logic. Americans block Russian/Chinese stuff and vice versa. anyone thinking that the US is a free state and a supporter of freedom is delusional.

You understand that freedom of speech doesn’t apply to private companies, right? It only applies to governments and their actors. Do you think YouTube is an official actor of the United States government?

sure YouTube took down content it could've used to generate money by themselves. do you really believe that?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

lol do you even know how making money on YouTube even works?

yea they present videos to people and benefit from the advertising. less content, less ads.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

It would be less ads if they let them stay because advertisers don’t want their ads played before those kinds of videos quit coping and accept reality

why would advertisers not want their ads played before every single video, are you stupid?

USA pretend to be the defender of democracy and freedom. China is a dictatorship. Most people would probably say that they think USA should be held to a bit higher standards

Because that’s what we as democracies say we do and want. I for one thing don’t want my democracy to be worse than the Saudis. But you do you bro.

I love how everyone’s downvoting you because they would rather say r/americabad than think with basic logic

It’s the hypocrisy that is particularly jarring. China doesn’t claim to be the only country with freedom of speech like the USA does.

3

u/bozzie_ Jul 22 '25

Except you'll continuously have people like you downplaying China's censorship regime just because a Western country is engaging in censorship.

1

u/aVarangian Jul 22 '25

right? imagine people defending Nazi Germany just because the USA is a semi-shithole too

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

lol fundamental misunderstandings of freedom of speech either never get old. Also when has the US ever claimed to be the only country with freedom of speech?

This has nothing to do with freedom of speech, this is self defense against a form of organised hybrid warfare.

If they could prove that fine. But why look the other way with blatant dangerous misinformation and propaganda from western sources? They'll allow all types of scams but this is where we draw the line. It's clear it's about who lines your pockets
