They didn't stop there. They were calling her Heels-up Harris, BJ queen, and a few other things I don't even feel comfortable typing out. There's zero evidence she "slept her way to the top" yet they believe it, because in the MAGA mind there's simply no other way a woman could achieve a position of power.

I think sometimes we forget that in addition to how openly racist much of America is, perhaps even more of it is openly sexist. There's no way to test this theory, but I think if Trump's 2024 opponent had been a black man with exactly the same qualifications Harris had, that opponent would have won (though probably just barely).

Also the argument that women sleep their way to the top never made sense to me. If they could get to the highest positions of society, government, business, etc just by sucking and fucking a few guys (or a lot of guys) then women would be in charge of literally everything by now.

I think there was something about her having a relationship with someone in the government while she was a prosecutor?? … but her role in politics was an elected role in CA so I’m not really sure sure how that helps get her votes anyway

But you’re right, she still had to get elected in her own right and they only dated briefly 30 years ago…it certainly wasn’t a case of “sleeping her way to the top.”

So, the insidious nature of this crap is that it is actually based on a kernel of truth.

Early in her career in public service KH DID date a much older VERY powerful, at the time, man in local San Francisco (where she started) and CA politics. Ie Willie Brown

But, that was 30 years ago now. Even if we assume the worst and WB did help KH because of their relationship….that’s AT WORST, sleeping your way to the starting line…not the top. And, as you say, there’s absolutely no evidence for even THAT being true.

But she did date him…so it’s easy to spin people’s imagination up from there and feed them racist and misogynistic propaganda.
