Bullshit. Plenty of things can exist in this world without being maximised for profit and do so every day. Some assholes will always try, and our current socio-economic system encourages them instead of trying to keep them under control even when it's clearly doing more harm than good, but that doesn't mean it's inevitable.

The way the world is run right now, it’s all about profit. I wish it wasn’t. I’ve seen good men w good ideas get slaughtered in this world while the sleaziest con men get rich

I don’t have nearly the amount of money I’d need to make an impact. The only way you can counter this is having enough money to buy your own reality.

It’s basically impossible to make an impact on the world without $$. You can make an impact on your community, but a country or the world? You have to be not just rich, but super rich. Unless you’re like a genius & able to invent something that makes everyone’s life better.

& I agree, once something popular exists, someone will find a way to profit off of it.
