Another option is grabbing an old laptop and ripping your cd collection on there. It’s time consuming but gives you a chance to revisit your music. 🍻

All my old music circa 1990-2005 or so is on a hard disk. Everything after that is a playlist or favorites somewhere. And I'd like to start buying that music, but CDs don't seem like a good way to do it. Who sells music in a way that isn't temporary/evanescent other than physical media? Anyone?

What do you consider "temporary"? I mean, there are a number of sites that sell downloads le albums - Bleep, Bandcamp, Pro Studio Masters...for smaller labels, a lot of them sell direct, too

I guess at my age I expect to hold on to them until I am fish food.

I know Bandcamp. And I've certainly seen local bands selling their own CDs. But I'd like to be able to buy some of the bigger names too.
