They use federal dollars for huge projects like this. Though I agree with your point.

This isn’t true, the only thing federal about this project is the property they’re building on (and paying for). Source - wind industry professional and former Orsted employee.

Were they not getting any funding/rebates from green energy programs? I know the one in Virginia was. I would assume all green energy projects would take advantage of government incentives

No, there is no government funding for renewables, only tax credits upon completion. Renewables, unlike fossil fuels, receive zero government subsidy. We have to be smarter and not push misinformation.
