Don Juan lore:

Don Juan is an old Spanish folk legend. Don Juan is a man who loves women above all; he has slept with over 10000 of them in his “career”.

It helps that he is very good at seducing.

Mozart and Da Ponte wrote a comic opera where he kills a woman’s father, r*pes another woman, abuses his servant, laughs at a statue in a cemetery and then gets dragged to hell by demons.

I highly recommend you watch the opera, it’s great fun (if the singers and the production aren’t horrible, which sadly happens often).

It’s in Italian, so watch a version with subtitles.
