Advice My mother keeps insisting I wear this hoodie, cause she bought it

I can't stand it, partially because it had something to do with a baby shower which was before I was born anyway

But mostly because it's AI slop, probably made in a sweatshop, and it's not even that warm or comfortable

Any reason I give is instantly shut down, per usual

Maybe I'll rub it against some concrete to see what happens, although I feel like it won't come off, it's not that it's good quality but however they printed it on, but I'll see

Honestly I would scrape it with whatever I can find, the concrete, my nails, a fork. Do whatever you can to get that monkey unrecognizable and tell her this is what happens when you buy from temu, the quality is just bad.

Honestly I'll try, I have plenty of things to scrape with, thanks eczema for that, thing is I don't know if it would work, its that really weird smooth silk texture, like unnaturally smooth, almost plasticy

I’m not sure, but that kinda sounds like the material that gets destroyed with heat. Maybe try drying it in the clothes dryer on high heat, or using a hair dryer

Oh yeah, whenever we dry it I have to hang it up, cant put it in the dryer, might give that a try

I've seen on tiktok that if you stretch the fabric with the plastic, it might rip and look ugly

Oh it definitely do. You can help to make the print break by soaking it in water and then scrunch (?? Sorry i'm nie native speaker) it a bit. Do that both when wet and dry. It's not a fast way but may help to get the print to start breaking and then it's easier to take/scrub off

if you have a washing machine, throw it in and wash it on really high temperature water. I've had some prints of mine melt and discolor, so maybe this one will, too?

Your description of the plasticy texture make me think it might enjoy a hot cycle in the tumble dryer.

Seems like the most likely option atm, and I said plasticy because it's like silky, but like too silky, almost unnaturally silky

Yeah, definitely sounds like a tumble dry might help. I bet that smooth texture crackles in no time. Also I'd day don't scratch it, that will just look like scratches. Scrumple it up really tight, flatten, scrumple again and continue - this could crackle it up like these cheap plastic prints will do with age and wear, and hopefully look less like sabotage. Once scrunched loads wash it again. Wash it as often as you can in fact, this is the fastest thing to wear out lots of clothes. Chuck some heavy jeans with rivets in the wash cycles too.

Try acetone, like nail polish remover. It might lift the print

Wash it with fabric softener and run it through the drier on high heat whenever your mom isn't home. The graphic will start breaking down naturally.

That sounds like a direct to fabric heat transfer, which would make sense on this item. A dryer won’t be hot enough but if you use an iron on high heat that might do it! Also may ruin the iron!!

Just soak it in isopropyl alcohol. Do it gradually so eventually monkey goes away.

Throw it in a washing machine, the print should start chipping off, then you can just scrape it.

wash it couple times saying oh I wore this couple times or ask if u can wear it in the house bc u love it sm, then it becomes housewear and not embarrassing to wear out, then u can wash it couple times too till the design wear off, if u havnt washed it say i like these shop stuff washed before wearing! Hope this helps cause i have a mom exactly like u..
