NGD: Player II
Got a promotion at work and saw Guitar Center was running these at $679. I wanted one for a while so after talking it over with the wife, we went today to check them out. The floor model was pretty dirty and dry so I asked the manager if he had another one in the back, and he brought this out new in the box. As soon as I saw the color and streak in the rosewood, I said yes.

Just bought the same one a few days ago!

I may grab one, how do the pickups sound?

Sounds like a tele. It’s the same alnico v pickups. Same as the ones on the player series. But at the price of the current MIM “standard”, it’s worth it.

Love that color and cool rosewood streak. I haven’t followed pricing much but does seem like a good deal.

I’d say at this price, it’s probably the best *brand new bang for your buck guitar.

I just got a player ii tele from gc myself! (And posted about it here.) How was your setup from guitar center? I think mine still needs a little work, mainly b and high e strings. Also, for some reason, tuner having a hard time detecting the high e.
Congrats btw. I almost bought that very same model. Love the color!

Mine was fresh out of the factory box, so it still had the factory setup. It’s not too bad honestly, but I do need to take my next day off and dial in the intonation some

I was in such a hurry to take home my new toy, mine is probably just factory setup too. I may treat myself to my first real pro setup just to see what its like.

The “luthier” where I currently live sucks. So I just do my own setups. I am moving to Kansas City though and will be going to Fountain City Guitar (where they make Seuf guitars) for a good setup and bone nut.

This is the British racing green tele right? Guitar Center sends me an email every few months with the same deal, one of these days im going to take it. I do wonder why this specific color always gets the sale though.

Yes it is. The Strat is beautiful too. The paint has a little sparkle in it too. It’s worth it at this price for sure.

I have the jazzie and love it.

That’s the one I was really looking for but not having the rhythm circuit turned me away (they also didn’t have one or I probably would’ve bought it if they did at this price)

Love this colour on everything.
So good on sports cars. So good on 'nice things'

What a beauty ! I’m still thinking in between a modded Classic Vibe or a Player 2 Tele. 🤔 I heard the neck and pickups on the player are a big step up compared to the CV. I played a player 2 once in a guitar store and loved it. But it’s nearly twice as much. 😬

This color guitar is only 200 more (at guitar center) than a new classic vibe and will beat them 9/10 in a one on one barring any lemons. I’d say go for it and try to work some overtime if possible. Or sell a pedal or something to cover the difference. Let me know what you pick! Either way new guitar day is a good day!

Killer rosewood on that fretboard, it’s stunning! I just got one of the chambered ash white blonde player IIs and I’m in love. Congrats!
