Abdominopelvic CtScan result

Post image

Just received this result via email. Will be meeting with our oncology tomorrow. With this, what would happen next? My husband was done with the 3xBEP. Hope to hear your stories as I didn't know what to think anymore.

Not a doc

Likely RPLND would be the next step due to the nodules in the abdomen. Based on the pathology found from the RPLND, they’d either do surveillance or more chemo after that

Not a Dr.
Sorry you and your husband have to go through this! Its concerning to me that the iliac and retroperitneal masses got larger during chemo treatments. I would suggest reaching out to Dr Einhorn at Indiana University, if your husband isnt already being treated at a very highly regard treatment center.

I had a similarly sized , but smaller retroperitneal mass. Its considered a very large mass for TC. The physical size of the mass can physically impede bodily functions like bowel movements and passing urine by compressing vessel. Your husband needs expert care. There are surgeons and institutions that routinely deal with cases similar to your husband's and have successful outcomes. Often local oncologists can consult with world class experts and handle the chemo aspect, while the surgical aspects are best handled at high volume centers that routinely perform RPLND.

Good luck!

Not a doc, but my guess is RPLND. The growing nodule could be terraroma. They don’t respond to chemo, but can be surgically removed.

Yeah not pleasant. But thankfully it’s highly effective.

As others have stated, sounds like RPLND is next step. Sorry to read his tumour in abdomen did not shrink from BEP. Although, the BEP likely killed any ant cancer which is too small to show on scans. Good luck with everything!

Not a doc either.

Definitely some good comments here. Google search on “growing teratoma syndrome.” This could be a possibility. Basically it means RPLND is likely next, as some others suggested.

Definitely consult with a high volume center, Indiana, Memorial Sloan, with RPLND experience. 💪
