Blowing up Vesuvios right or wrong?
Serious answers only… was Tony wrong for blowing up Arties restaurant? I mean that hit was gonna happen regardless since Junior woulda just waited until the restaurant opened back up. So not only did Artie get the insurance money he also didn’t have to worry about a murder in his restaurant killing his business( no pun intended). Now I get it at the bbq Tony Sil and Paulie where gaslighting and manipulating like a mf. But still all in all was it the right thing to do or wrong?

I don't get why they didn't just go kill pussy malanga themselves somewhere else before Junior could do it at Vesuvios.

Because it would’ve pissed him off. Junior took everything personally and at this point they wanted to keep him happy

I'm just glad Junior shot Pussy Malanga when he tried invading his home; stealing all his bananers in the kitchen.

Exactly. That would have been the right move.
Not blowing up a man’s restaurant.

I’m sure Tony justified it as the least crappy of his options.
He tried to talk to Junior first, and he wasn’t budging.
He tried to get Artie out of town, and his wife refused to buy Tony’s BS reasoning.
So, it’s either do nothing, let the hit happen and have the chips fall where they may. Or, force the issue with Junior, knowing it’s going to cause a lot of short-term harm for Artie.
In the end, it works out pretty well. Artie gets a nicer restaurant in a better location, even though Tony always remains Artie’s prime suspect as to who blew up his old place.

Tony's logic was sound. That place wasn't gonna become some hot spot because some random monster got killed there like that steak spot in NYC.
Blowing it up was the right choice.

When my dad was a kid, just out of the navy, some guys came to him, asking for his help in blowing up a restaurant. He wanted nothing to do with it.
They filled a pot with gasoline, turned on the oven with pilot light off, turned on the burner. They thought when the gasoline boiled, it would hit the flame, ignite, boom.
Instead, the fumes hit the flame, boom.
They were both burned over most of their bodies, begging for someone to put them out of their misery. They both died within 24 hours.

lol the best way for you to blow up a joint is probably just pie gasoline everywhere and light a match

Definitely wrong. He made him part of a criminal conspiracy! You ever think of that?!

I always felt like a high profile murder could help business. Sparks steakhouse did fine.

It was right to go to extreme measures to protect a friend, but destroying his livelihood to do it was wrong because it's a half-measure.
By doing it this way, it protects Artie while keeping Junior from being able to directly start a beef about it. If you're wanting to protect him all the way, go all the way in risking Junior's wrath and take out Malanga yourself on your own terms, well away from the restaurant. Hell, given Junior's insecurities, Tony could've played him into letting it slide so long as Junior got the credit for it all.

Msgr Jughead thought it was wrong. He told Artie to go to the cops. Nevermind that he lounges around Tony's house, eating his steaks, drinking his wine, sniffing his wife and using his entertainment center, while he & Carmella play name that Pope. Jughead is a hypocrite like the rest of them.
Oh, Vesuvio? I don't care what anyone says. I'm gonna see that fuckin crater.

Within the mob’s own twisted logic, you could argue it was “justified.”
Outside of that, it’s obviously not justified.

Tony prevents his buddies restaurant from a potential haunting. That’s what friends are for

It definitely prevents a murder at Vesuvio
It probably gets his friend a payout to upgrade the restaurant (and Tony can exert some pressure to make sure this happens)
In North Jersey blowing up Vesuvio is a win-win solution
