I just realized Junior lied about having cable

TWO TIMES in the series there’s proof he didn’t have it. Once when little Bobby junior is at his house and whispers “dad he doesn’t even have cable!” And then again when Furio goes to watch “the Bloomberg” we hear his disappointed voice yelling “NO CABLE!”

And yet like a total stunad I fell for it when he told Angelo “I have cable”. Can you imagine the disgrace? Angelo died in the back of Phil’s Cadillac never knowing the truth.

I feel battered.

He has HBO, though. (It's not cable. It's HBO)

He probably had it through a satellite dish. Back then, a lot of people specifically got HBO that way, independent of full cable.

Next you’re going to tell me Uncle Junior had a DVR?

Is that like a DNR? I have to do this report on it.

He got cable not long after the episode when Furio wanted to watch the Bloomberg. He was trying to watch it and yelling at whoever was there helping him that Tony said the cable box had to be on.

Theeeere's the coyote.

u/ShariceDavidsJester 1d ago

These prairie dogs, they'll sleep during the day

u/Acceptable-Map-9209 8h ago

I always liked to think that Tony was the coyote. Because Tony came over to his uncles house, who he knew was having age related mental health problems, and instead of like trying to help his uncle, he sat down next to his clearly struggling uncle, reprimanded him for his dementia symptoms, and then laid a serious guilt trip on him and made him cry. That's the behavior of a ruthless soulless predator (a coyote), against a helpless "innocent" victim who sleeps during the day (his uncle, the prairie dog).

(Nevermind that Junior was a ruthless predator and killed people and is far from innocent earlier in his life, I mean just in the context of them sitting on the couch and Junior struggling with dementia.)

That was just a phone call away. But he finally got cable in season 5, episode 3. He immediately sees Larry David on screen and thinks he’s seeing himself.

This is all sounding very gay. I hope your not saying that

u/Sensitive-Ear-3896 1d ago

In America you do not have?

u/jy_1980 1d ago

He should've gotten it for his house arrest but I guess Melvoin was nickle and diming him so bad on Xerox fees he couldn't swing it.

u/Simple_Campaign1035 1d ago

What ??!! I don't remember any of this

It's a TV progrum. A movie.

It’s the same episode where Tony gets so pissed off at Junior because he keeps saying Tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete. Then Junior goes walkabout looking for his brother Johnny.

u/Fragrant-Buffalo-898 4h ago

Furio was at Junior's house???

1

u/zanylanie 4h ago

Yes. OP mentions this in the post. 🤨

1

u/Fragrant-Buffalo-898 4h ago

Is there a link, or an episode when he does it? For the life of me, I never remember him being there.

Just Bobby, Janice, Tony, and Richie, and his old friend and the one nurse.

2

u/zanylanie 3h ago

I’m pretty sure it’s the same episode when they have Christopher’s intervention and Tony fucks Svetlana. In the scene when Furio is there, he has the wine he brought back from Italy after his father’s funeral. Svetlana tastes it and says it needs ice. Then Furio says he’s going to go watch the Bloomberg.

Cool, thanks. 👍👍👍👍

Tony is also seen watching Band of Brothers on one episode.

11

u/mah131 1d ago

What a progrum.

7

u/AdUseful1525 1d ago

This totally explains why he saw him and Bobby on the tv progrum🙀

4

u/JQuilty 1d ago

What the fuck was that, that was him and Bobby.

I caught that lie too, its hilarious. He is so full of shit.

4

u/Ijustthinkthatyeah 1d ago

You think you could watch documentaries about groundhogs without cable? Come on, use your head.

4

u/Life_Bet8956 1d ago

I saw that movie. Thought it was bullshit.

3

u/MayGer_Tom 1d ago

He also said he bought AJ a surfboard.

2

u/AdUseful1525 23h ago

Hey youre right. Where the fuck is the surfboard?  I bet he lied about all the stuff he said he did with Tony too.

5

u/Sad-Illustrator-8847 1d ago

Bobby Jr was dumb enough to get locked in the garage by A J.

4

u/robbwes61 1d ago edited 1d ago

I just realized OP is a stunad of the first magnitude. S5 E2, Where’s Johnny, about 6 minutes in Junior announces “Tony said the cable box needs to be on”. He then watches HBO, Curb your Enthusiasm and confuses Larry David and his manager as him and Bobby.

1

u/AdUseful1525 14h ago

So what are you now?  The amazing Kreskin?

4

u/TheWickerMan232 1d ago

How did he see that Larry David show then?

3

u/Different_Swimmer715 1d ago

He's part of a whole generation

3

u/Hughkalailee 1d ago

Eva consider what a coincidence it is that No one had cable before they got cable?

Eva pondah dat?!

3

u/Simple_Campaign1035 1d ago

This is a very good observation OP I never noticed this.   Very allegorical

Cable salesman leaves Junior’s house

“He couldn’t fucking sell it.”

Angelo died in the back of Phil’s Cadillac

Phil drove a Lincoln. You're just upset about the grain on the leather from the factory. Call me when the post is done correctly.

2

u/mrpopsicleman 1d ago

I get it. He drives a Lincoln.

2

u/AdUseful1525 23h ago

I thought it was a cadirack

1

u/Hexyl68 15h ago

It was a CATARACT!!! For Christ sakes!

4

I've been farting into the same sofa cushion for 18 months! This, without cable!

He was just trying to flex on Angelo

2

u/SarahEpsteinKellen 1d ago

Watch the Bloomberg for what? To check webistics stock prices?

1

u/AdUseful1525 23h ago

To see the price of indoor plumbin’

1

u/herefortheturtles 1d ago

He probably had a scrambler

3

u/sweatpantsjoe 1d ago

You still needed basic cable in the house in order for those to work

1

u/fcsaratoga2013 1d ago

He was watching Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO Show)

1

u/ShellyTheDog 1d ago

He had hbo. He was watching curb

1

u/Particular_Still2450 1d ago

When he got cable he was watching The Sopranos (HBO show)

1

u/BatmanBrah 20h ago

People born in the 20s/30s houses were extremely fucking boring places to be from a millennial standard. Who doesn't remember the trips to your grandparents where you were bored beyond belief? Junior's place fits in with that incredibly well. Old geezer barely turns the lights on.

1

u/seoplednakirf 6h ago

I have a cable coming out of the back end of my tv
