Did anyone else notice how Tony and Phil mirror each other in Season 6? Spoiler
I was rewatching The Sopranos and noticed some striking parallels between Tony and Phil, especially in Season 6: Both are obsessed with respect and legacy but constantly put their families at risk. Both “survive” near-death moments (Tony’s coma, Phil’s heart attack) only to return to the same destructive patterns. Their crews grumble about their leadership, showing cracks in their control. Most chillingly, their deaths (or implied death for Tony) mirror each other: brutal, public, and witnessed by their loved ones. Phil gets crushed under an SUV with his wife and grandkids watching, and if Tony dies in Holsten’s, Carmela and A.J. would see him shot in the head, Meadow walking in just in time. It feels like David Chase set them up as foils, showing that no matter how “smart” or “modern” Tony thinks he is, he’s just repeating the same tragic cycle. Did anyone else catch this parallel?

Tony is also eating onion rings, a callback to the circles found everywhere during his psychedelic trip in the vegas casino.
With all of the families that Tony has destroyed, it was only a matter of time before his was destroyed as well.
What you put into the world will come back to you.

How many years did Phil do in the can? I feel like there's a parallel there too.

Bro Phil’s wife was nagging him about killing Vito 😭 she was basically telling Phil “he really needs help” wink wink that’s why Phil was so outspoken about his hatred for Vito
