What the hell is this crazy man talking about?
He has no idea what Tony has done but somehow his prescription of reading this book + jail time will save him.
What kind of insane logic is this? What kind of a quack would seriously say this? Therapy is such a joke, a racket for the yews

I go way back. I know people say Tony was giving Ralph the order without “giving the order” but I think Tony was intentionally not giving the order. This wasn’t a Carmine calling Tony situation. Tony wanted Ralph to think it was his responsibility.
Ralph tells Tony this sob story and says he wants to give Jackie a pass to try to get Tony to take the responsibility from him and give it to someone else.
I’m not saying Tony would allow Jackie to get a pass but giving Ralph the order would just make things easier for Ralph. Tony knows too much about the subconscious. He wants Ralph to think it’s his decision.
This I why Ralph procrastinates and tries to convince Sil and Paulie that he’s going to take care of it. Tony knew Ralph wouldn’t be able to live with that. Ralph only had one option but his punishment was not being able to blame anyone else.

"And so I says to Paulie, I says to him 'make sure Puss gets off that boat alive, we just wanna scare him outta town'. But that Paulie, he never fuckin' listened, shot him right there. It was dicked up."
"...And if I had used the sponsor of this video, BetterHelp, my uncle Jun never would have found out I was seein' a shrink. Cunnilingus and lack of access to discrete online counseling brought us to this."

Subtle or not, who do you think makes the best threat on the show?

Why does everyone hate AJ so much?
He was a kid acting like kids would. His dad is a gangster, and that's not something most of us have to deal with. His failures—dropping out of school and work, crying at Starbucks, even that failed murder attempt; To me, they're completely understandable.
Honestly, who hasn't failed in the same way?
I get it. Just wondering why people hate on him so much.

What if Tony was trying to lure Vito somewhere else to get some Johnny Cakes action? Is this a valid theory, what do you guys think?

OMFG! This is awesome we are still active here, “The highway was jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive!”
I just finished rewatching for the 20-25th time. with the ability to watch anywhere now, I find myself starting a rewatch on the pooper - I use my DVD seasons as decorative bookends now.
My niece, 18 in 6 days, finally agreed to watch it now that she is transitioned from moody teen angst to artistic teen seriousness. Figure I’ll point her here for the deeper dives she will def explore.

Think about it, Tony describes himself as a sad clown to Melfi, clearly showing a certain inner desire to be a Circus Carny instead of the boss of a glorified crew

On rewatch I noticed the bear didn’t show up until John Sanctimonious moved to Jersey. Do you think Ginny stole that bears food?

Can we take a minute to talk about how great the music selection was on The Sopranos. I think it was some of the best uses of music in any TV series. Whoever came up with the Peter Gunn/Every Breath You Take mashup in Mr Reggario's Neighborhood was brilliant. Using the Rolling Stones Thru and Thru in Funhouse to bookend the episode. University The Kinks Living on a Thin Line. Glad Tidings in All Due Respect. There I've said my piece.

I was rewatching The Sopranos and noticed some striking parallels between Tony and Phil, especially in Season 6: Both are obsessed with respect and legacy but constantly put their families at risk. Both “survive” near-death moments (Tony’s coma, Phil’s heart attack) only to return to the same destructive patterns. Their crews grumble about their leadership, showing cracks in their control. Most chillingly, their deaths (or implied death for Tony) mirror each other: brutal, public, and witnessed by their loved ones. Phil gets crushed under an SUV with his wife and grandkids watching, and if Tony dies in Holsten’s, Carmela and A.J. would see him shot in the head, Meadow walking in just in time. It feels like David Chase set them up as foils, showing that no matter how “smart” or “modern” Tony thinks he is, he’s just repeating the same tragic cycle. Did anyone else catch this parallel?

Apart from the rape, tracee or Adrianna’s death, What are some moments you skip over because it’s too much? For me it’s the two times the fbi being in Adriana and really put the screws to her. The feeling of hopelessness is too much. I feel so bad for her.
Another is when coco gets curb stomped.

When Sunshine gets blown away by Jackie Jr it's just hilarious, I burst out laughing every time I see that scene. Sunshine trolling Jackie and crew just pished them off so much.
"If you can keep your head when others can't -" BAM BAM BAM 🤣

Asking because despite the shit Christopher did to Adriana, whether it was beating her, killing her dog, and god knows all the other shit and abuse he put her through…Adriana always forgave Chris and continue to genuinely love him.
But do you think there was a limit to this forgiveness and that Adriana would have stopped caring for Chris if she knew about his part in her death? May sound like a stupid question but Adriana seems like the type of person to forgive Chris and think that he had no choice but to kill her, she might even blame herself for what happened by blaming herself for becoming a rat in the first place.

Silvio says that Jackie shot at 2 made guys, but there were 4 of them there- Gene, Christopher, Albert and Furio. So two of them probably didn't have the makings of a varsity made guy.

Anyone ever noticed that if you spot one Soprano actor in a film, there's typically at least one more? The only actor who often stands alone is Joey Pants and Gandolfini obviously.
I just watched Money Train which has Janice and Big Puss in it. Absolutely bizarre.

Something I was thinking about. To be clear, I don’t really have a theory here, more just want to hear what others think.
Melfi and Junior seem to be Tony’s primary sources of advice—even moreso than Sil, his actual consigliere.
In some ways, they combine to form one ultimate confidant. With Melfi he can talk about his feelings but not his work. With Junior he can talk about his work but not his feelings. Interestingly enough, with Carmella he can’t talk honestly about either.
But to keep the focus on Melfi and Junior… Whether or not they know it, they share a connection through Tony’s quest for answers. They are two of the rare people Tony doesn’t feel “above” and that he genuinely listens to. In some ways Junior and Melfi fill the same role in Tony’s life, but in other ways they are opposites, counterparts, or even competitors for Tony’s conscience.
Like I said I don’t have any grand point to make here. I just wanted to posit these questions and hopefully spark an interesting discussion:
Can you think of any instances where Junior and Melfi show notable parallels or inverses? What meaning do you think can be drawn from such instances? Do you think there’s anything unique about their connection? Or are they both simply cogs in the greater machine—the sketchy mosaic—that is Tony’s sphere of influence? Are they adversaries or do they really both want the same thing—for Tony to be a more functional adult? Is their connection spiritual? Or even supernatural?
Not necessarily looking for answers to all these questions, just curious to hear any and all theories and musings this community may have surrounding the relationship between these two specific characters.
I said my piece.

Is there any correlation with Paulie calling Zellman a Christ killer when at dinner with Johnny Sack and Tony using a belt on Zellman not long after? Obviously with Jesus being lashed etc.
edit Obviously I know Tony's motivations for beating Zellman with Irina etc, was just thinking maybe Chase slipped the belt thing as he does with other stuff.

Serious answers only… was Tony wrong for blowing up Arties restaurant? I mean that hit was gonna happen regardless since Junior woulda just waited until the restaurant opened back up. So not only did Artie get the insurance money he also didn’t have to worry about a murder in his restaurant killing his business( no pun intended). Now I get it at the bbq Tony Sil and Paulie where gaslighting and manipulating like a mf. But still all in all was it the right thing to do or wrong?
