I don’t exactly know why, but I always really liked the interaction John and Elaine when he was preparing to fight Remi. Something about John being Joker and acting tactical, but also acting a lot like his usual self before he revealed his powers. It kind of showed a glimpse of John if he adjusted to his powers and kept his OG personality(obviously we get that now, but he acts a lot more serious with the events of the story, so we don’t get much of him being more relaxed like with Elaine).

I think you meant cecile right? Yeah their interactions were so fun to read john would vent all his anger on arlo and cecile everything that came out of his mouth at that time was pure gold

Oh yeah, my bad. I get the 2 mixed up because of their hair being similar lol. I was actually pretty sad when he started to treat her badly since I really liked their friendship and interactions, but it was interesting to see him say that and for Cecile to stand her ground. Imo, they’re both very similar in their personalities(they’re both very stubborn and will still get the upper hand on someone stronger by shit talking them, even if they do get beat up, since they still managed to rile them up) and it felt a lot like John was basically put in the reverse situation that he was in pre-Joker, where he would refuse to back down against a high tier and they’d beat him for it, but he still feels like he “won”, but this time John is the high tier and Elaine is John.

i never thought of it in this way! That actually makes sense cos as you said Cecile was kinda the mirrored version of john so he showed his darkest side to her only i wish we had more cecile john moments after his redemption arc it would’ve been fun to see

Yes, I 100% agree! Cecile and John’s relationship was actually such a delight for me. Even in his worst moments, when he was so toxic to her, I just loved to watch them be absolutely unhinged.
