Meta Uncharted 1-3 but now grappling hook
Anyone else want a remaster/remake of the first three games (and maybe Golden Abyss?) with the only change being you have the grappling hook from UC4?
Imagine how fun and dynamic the tank or train fights could be with the ability to swing around the level!

While I absolutely would love a remaster/remake of the OG 3, I feel like the addition to a grapple hook might be too big a change. I'm all for updating combat mechanics (throwback grenades, better melee, stealth indicators, gunplay, etc.) and the climbing animations, but I feel like adding the grapple hook may require that a lot of the iconic traversal segments, combat encounters, and action set pieces be redesigned to include this new mechanic, taking away some of the specific charm they had.
This is similar to how in the last of us part 1 remake, they brought a lot of the combat mechanics in from the sequel, but didn't translate the prone crawling or some of the more fluid movement systems, because it would require a redesign of a lot of the areas of the game.
Not to mention the dialogue that would need to be changed/added to accommodate this new mechanic. I wouldn't want them to re-record any of those iconic performances, so the new voice lines might be jarring next to the old ones.

But there is a Remaster for the PS4😅
Just finished the first two games in this version. Completely forgot, that there was no sneaking in the first game, so every scene was basically an arena fight.

I really didnt care much about the grappling hook tbh

That’s fair. For me, few things match the emotional high of jumping off a ledge, grappling a chandelier or something, gunning down thugs mid-swing, and ending it with a Superman punch on one unlucky Shoreliner lol

I just need a full ground up remake of the trilogy. AND Golden Abyss remake. All on the same disc please.

The only thing I want from the Uncharted series is a lost legacy sequel with Chloe and Nadine but a full length game

Agreed. But don't forget Sam as well. The 3 of them makes an interesting dynamic.

I want remakes, but a grappling hook mechanic in the first 3 games would totally fuck every level they'd ever designed from the first 3 games. They'd have to totally gut every level and redesign it--that's too much work / time / money to do.

Let me dream lol
I just wanna swing over the tank boss fight in 2 instead of frantically running back and forth looking for rocket launchers 😂

It would mean re doing every map and potentially some puzzles to include grapple hook mechanics. They would also have to re do combat areas. Since 4’s were more open to encourage the grappling hook. 1-3 had more closed off combat areas. Not to mention the train scene in 2 would probably have to be re written to incorporate Nate using the grappling hook.

The grappling hook is a core game mechanic, too much of the game would have to be remade around it.

I dont feel like they need remakes or remasters. They still look good by today's standards. Except Golden Abyss. Golden Abyss deserves a console release.

The first 3 games are already good enough as they are adding this mechanic would be unnecessary (although they could stand to fix that WWE stealth takedown move in uncharted 3 which they did fix in uncharted 4)

A yes rebuilding a whole game for one mechanic
The last of us remake didn’t include the prone from part II because that would have had to have all the levels redesigned to include a mechanic that wasn’t there.

No offense, but it's wild how uninformed gamers are about Game/Level Design

I know it’d require level redesigns with the verticality in mind and you can’t just drop that new mechanic in it. But it’d be cool if they did lol

But they have to work on the last of us: definitive edition

But they have to work on the last of us: definitive edition
Close; first it's The Last of Us: Remastered Definitive Edition, then they'll release The Last of Us: Remake Definitive Edition, followed by The Last of Us: GOTY Remastered Remake Edition. /s

Im sorry, but it seems like a lot of people commenting to you lack reading comprehension. Anyway, yea.h Just add a ton of shit from 4 to the first 3 games, and they would be peak. I personally feel like people overhype the first 3 games as they are

Meh, such is life on Reddit. I love the first three games, I just crave the verticality of a grappling hook across all of Nate’s adventures

I would love for Naughty Dog to never remake any of its games ever again and just pump out some new shit

That means that they would have to redo every single map except the old submarine base, so no.
