TNDC I can't believe that after 9 years I finally beat the Nathan Drake Collection on Brutal Difficulty.

Post image

I got the platinum 9 years ago on PS4, but since then I always wanted to get the 100% on the Nathan Drake Collection, but at that time after so many tries I gave up on the Brutal Difficulty.

But now, after all these years, I managed to beat all three games on Brutal!

Congratulations mate! As a fellow Brutal-beater I can imagine how you feel ๐Ÿ˜…

That difficulty is pure ass, it's not even really "difficult" by its nature its just extremely bad game design xD

Yeah, there are parts that makes no sense at all. For example , on U1, in the final battle, after you dodge the falling crates by pressing circle, the animation hasn't ended and you are already dead. I had to replay it like 20 times because it was impossible to take cover after pressing Circle.

With that encounter I think I discovered that when you respawn at the checkpoint the enemies are already coming, so you have to make the boxes fall before they can get in position to kill you. Also Iโ€™ve beat brutal on drakes fortune and almost finished among thieves ๐Ÿ˜

Congrats! Also go on Among Thieves! You doing it legit or with glitches?

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. There's a few of these "points" throughout the trilogy, especially the box checkpoint you described in the boss battle of U1, in U2 you have the train section where you spawn on the roof and get shot before you can get to cover, and in U3 you have this beatiful section where you have to run away into the tower without defense...

These are basically not depending on your skill, but on your luck or better said, the "mercy" of the game - which is incredibly stupid. Like it literally depends on luck and your persistence to get through these sections...

Having just pulled my hair out on the final battles of 3 on normal, kudos. Enemies ambushing you with no cover was never fun

I usually play the first run completely blind, but since I already played the PS5 version on 2023, I tried to Speedrun this one.

Basically, on the first run I played on Easy and got all collectables and all the miscellaneous trophies, with the exception of the 2nd and 3rd chapter, since there's a trophy for playing through Chapter 1 to 5 without shooting or throwing a grenade. On those chapters there are optional parts with lots of enemies and collectables where you have to throw a grenade to get them, so it was better to focus on them on the second playthrough.

The second playthrough was basically playing the game on Crushing and getting the remaining stuff of Chapters 2 and 3.

Does ps profiles upload on itโ€™s on? Or do you manually have to go to the site to upload your trophies? Was always curious how this worked

It updates on its own on a daily basis (I think more often if you're a ptemium member but not sure) but you also have the possibility to update it manually. That's limited to every 6 hours though for free users.

It updates it after a few hours, but you can force it to update them. It does everything automatically tho, you don't have to upload anything by your own.

You just need an account? Itโ€™s free?

Yeah, completely free.

You can pay the Premium if you want, but it's basically just a way to support the page. The only benefits are that you can refresh your profile like every minute instead of every hour or so, and that you can show more trophies on your cabinet (basically, on your profile there's a section where you can select to show your fav 5 trophies, so Premium allows you to show 10).

There's also a free extension for your browser called PSNP+ which allows you to create Custom Lists (like the one on the main post) and stuff like that. Definitely worth it if you want to categorize your platinums. Another benefit is that on the guides you can choose to hide the trophies you already own, for example.

Good lord, congrats! I don't think I will ever try that. Got them platinum and that was tough enough.
