Well I finished off Golden Abyss, and felt let’s go for double Platinum on Drakes Fortune Remastered. Well during my sweep for treasures and hit treasure #5 which in the original release title was your “Beginner Fortune Hunter “trophy. Well it didn’t pop up. I thought that was weird, and figured maybe I was wrong, and there wasn’t that trophy. So this morning I did a check, and they did they took that trophy out of the list.

Did I mess up getting the wrong game?

So me and my friend have been wanting to play the co-op modes for uncharted 3 for a really long time. So I bought the Uncharted 3 GOTY Digital Edition on the ps3 store, and it's giving me all this shit to download like "Single Player Experience". bottom line my main question is, do I have to buy something else If i Want to play the local co-op mode with my friends?

r/uncharted 6d ago

Is there ANY way to be able to play the local co-op modes on Uncharted 3 without using a disc?

My ps3 no longer reads discs and I was wondering if getting the digital versions will allow you to access these modes.

I played Uncharted 2-3 for the first time, here are my thoughts.

So I played them on the OG PS3. I tried Uncharted 1 a few years before and I remember not liking it and not seeing a point, I remember thinking how incredibly overrated the game felt to me with a poor gameplay and poor game mechanics. I had also tried Uncharted 2, thinking I would like it better, I didn't.

Then recently I gave it another shot, and I got better at aiming with the controller, I'm still not a great shot mind you, but I got better. Then I started to like the game better. I think I now have a more objective view on the game(s), and I'll talk about the last of us as well since they share several points. I know it's controversial but I liked Uncharted 3 better than 2. The gameplay and game mechanics feels more polished. Overall after the second gameplay, I liked them, and I kinds liked the last of us as well.

Good parts

Graphics: Playing it on an old ps3 and the game(s) still look very pretty to me. It's clear ND puts a lot of effort into their artistic design and it shows. All the different sceneries are very beautiful to look at. Dated? I never cared about dated graphics tbh, that stands for every game, and when the art direction is good it stands the test of time imh.

Art and acting: As hinted before, all art related stuff I feel they're really good on almost all ND products. Acting is great, Nolan North and Victor's actors do a great job in bringing those characters to life. They gave them personalities and all and created the franchise.

Story: absolutely great in the last of us 1, and quite good in U2 and U3. Again, this is ND's forte. They're great at this stuff (except in U4 and TLOU2)

Gameplay: All those specific gameply bits, not sure what to call them, like the train sequence in U2, the plane and the ship in U3 are really nice and very well done. Overall the gameplay is fun but not great and here we go to bad parts

Bad parts

Mechanics: Lacking. They're not great, but they have been improved in U3 over the previous game and I hear they're even better in U4. THe cover system doesn't work well for me. Also the controls aren't great, especially during climbing.

Gameplay: It's not great either but it's ok. It's probably great for people who just like to cover and shoot, and that's not a bad thing. It's just a matter of opinion. I feel though ND has all the resources to do better on this

Cinematic stuff: This is a problem mostly on TLOU where too many times the developer takes the controller from you to tell their little boring story. That's universally known as bad game design. A good story teller is able to blend in the story parts within the game. In the TLOU for instance you get to fully sprint only in combat mode. About 40% of the game is you strolling at turtle speed listening to boring dialogue. This is much less of a problem in the U series with a few exceptions. I think they should have cut down the desert sequence significantly. Also the drugged Nate sequence drags for too long without much to do.

Quick time events: That's bad game design and very old. ND please take notes, it's not fun to press triangle or square in a scripted event. Good games don't do that, they shouldn't either. If it's not fun to do, then it's not a good mechanic. Kinda like the ladder sequenceces in the TLOU or the pressing triangle to pick up stuff in TLOU, though to be fair they removed that in TLOU2 and made it optional which is great

Conclusions

Uncharted 2-3 as gameplay is concerned is better than TLOU and it's a good series. I wouldn't call it a 10/10 series by a stretch. It has many parts great, but some are mediocre and I believe they can improve them if they want. I know some of those issues have been partially addressed in TLOU2 and U4, though they also doubled down on the cinematic crap and the scripted boring stuff, so it's a mixed bag. Also starting from U4 to TLOU2 the stories have turned to shit.

I'd give U3 a 7.5 and U2 a 7. TLOU I'd give it a 6.5. Overall they're good games, but not great and the main thing that takes them from greatness I think is the gameplay and mechanics. I know it's probably controversial on an Uncharted sub, but is there anybody who shares my view?

It just seems a bit unrealistic that the entire Spanish colony was infected simply by getting too close to el dorado

By popular demand of one person I bought the Uncharted 3 collectors edition, and when I tried to take a photo of the statue it ended up looking like he got blasted by the light of god.

After hearing so many negative things about this game I was afraid to play it . But the game is actually good . What surprised me the most how good it looks for a 2007 game . But the one thing I agree with everyone is the gaming mechanic is outdated which made the game the hardest in the franchise

I recently got to talk about the Uncharted movie again and i want to explode something

I understand that changes need to be made in order for people that also do not know uncharted can understand what is happening during the movie but i feel like the movie had SO MANY UNNECESSARY CHANGES FOR THE MOVIE THAT JUST RUINS SO MUCH

Not saying that the movie should be cannon or not but i mean Nathan`s history is such a blank that you basically dont know anything we just accept that a fucking 15 year old american kid was in Colombia alone enough to be in Jail because of a 39 years old Sully so why do they need to include such idiotic scenes that do nothing outside of making this movie not canon like the ring scene?

Is anyone else worried what Naughty Dog will do with Uncharted 5? Spoiler

I’ve been replaying the series and feeds of ND’s secret project has been popping up, something’s been bugging me. Naughty Dog has a recent habit of “reframing” their flagship characters — and I’m worried they’ll do the same with Uncharted if/when 5 happens.

Think about it:

  • In Uncharted 4, Sam Drake was suddenly retconned into Nate’s backstory. It didn’t really fit the timeline (Sully adopted Nate as a teen, but Sam didn’t “die” until their 20s — where the hell was he in U3’s flashbacks?). ND basically pulled him out of thin air to give Nate a “family anchor.”
  • With The Last of Us Part II, Joel was killed off in a brutal way so the story could focus on Ellie. Love or hate it, that’s the direction ND went — shock death + successor character.
  • The wider industry is doing this too: God of War reinvented Kratos as a dad with a son sidekick, Tomb Raider reboot turned Lara into a trauma survivor instead of the cheeky adventurer, etc.

So if Uncharted 5 is real, I can’t shake the feeling it’s going to be:

  • Nate gets killed off early (probably violently).
  • Cassie becomes the lead, written as the “strong, independent” replacement.
  • The focus shifts away from the pulpy treasure-hunting adventure vibe into another grim, trauma-driven story.
  • And yeah… they’ll probably tack on identity politics stuff because that’s the trend.

It’s frustrating because Nate already had the perfect ending in U4. He retired, had a family, got peace. Cassie’s epilogue was lighthearted and adventurous — it was the perfect seed for a new story without needing to “Last of Us-ify” Uncharted.

I’d honestly rather see a pulpy, globe-trotting Cassie story (with Nate and Elena alive, maybe as mentors in the background) than another grim, prestige-TV style “passing the torch” that undermines decades of character building.

Am I alone in feeling this way? Or do you guys also worry that Naughty Dog is going to turn Uncharted 5 into The Last of Us with treasure maps

SORRY FOR THE ESSAY
