They're sending me multiple offers to stay but adios Verizon!

First I received a loyalty discount $20/line for one year then a $10 off then $500 Off per line for 3 years. This was during a port out request. Sooo yeah, it's been 5 months but never coming back to Verizon again. Just switched to T-Mobile and guess what, I ran into several issues during porting but it's so much refreshing talking to someone that's helpful without getting the run around. To top it off, Sam's(Costco is the same) are giving me $1800 in visa and store card, pay off 2 of the phones on my line, and get new phones in 2 year bill credIt. Let's not mention I'll be paying the same monthly except with a better package. Anyways, I happy to be on the other side and wish you all the best. Adios

How realistic is it to make 95K in retail at Verizon corporate these days?

Comparing to my time back from 2015-2019 when I worked at an indirect, I’m thinking about coming back to retail but working for corporate.

Is 95K challenging to hit? Most won’t? Would love to understand a baseline.

Verizon to Spectrum?

I'm thinking of switching from Verizon to Spectrum as I already have Spectrum internet and I am told if i bundle Spectrum internet, TV and mobile, it's going to replace Verizon and YouTube TV which will save me more than $130/month. Anyone go through a similar transition and seen how Verizon has compared to Spectrum Mobile? The rep told me everything is basically the same as they use Verizon towers but i'd rather hear it from the general public.

Verizon 5Guw upgrades?

Does Verizon plan on upgrading most of their rural existing 4G lte towers to 5Guw? If so, do they have a timeline? The tower I’m receiving my service from is still a lte only tower. All the towers around it were upgraded to 5Guw a few years ago. Does this mean this tower will never get upgraded or at least it will be a long time? It already has fiber to the tower so I believe it’s capable backhaul wisel. It only has bands B13 and B66, but the average download speeds are around 70 megs so it’s definitely usable.

I went into a Verizon store and wasn't able to walk out with a new phone (prepay)

I have an economical A15 Samsung and wanted to buy the A16 in full at the store. Cost is about $200. I use prepay.

I waited 45 minutes and the man said, "I don't know what is wrong, something on the back end, I put in a ticket to see what's wrong, if you want to go to Walmart and buy this phone you can."

I don't want to go to Walmart. I want to buy it at Verizon.

Does anyone know what the issue could be? Is it because I'm a prepay customer? I also wanted to buy a phone case too.

Wireless Verizon Protect vs Visa credit card protection

Upvotes

Verizon trying to sell me on their protection plans but my credit card covers me to an extent. Given that I have 7 devices that would be a lot of money with Verizon. Is there any reason to not just rely on my credit card benefits here??

TRASH CS

As an employee, How can you report rude, disrespectful and horrible reps? All these oversea reps are untrained, under qualified (and probably overworked and underpaid, but still). I don’t know how much Verizon saves every year by moving CS overseas, but it's destroying their product and reputation.

Call Filter allowing calls others have marked as spam

Upvotes

I installed it two weeks ago and it’s blocked 140 calls so far. When it does let a call through, it’s always a call someone else has marked as spam. When I report the number, it always shows several reports from other people in the summary.

Of course this always happens when it’s not marked as suspicious by the algorithm, but it’s so frustrating that Verizon doesn’t block calls from known scammers.

Wireless Death of an Account Holder Question

Upvotes

Not sure if this is the correct subreddit to ask this, but my father was the account holder of our Verizon account for the last 10 years and passed away last year. We finally got around to shutting his phone off at the beginning of the summer, but we have noticed that now our bill is making us pay for one of my sibling's phones. My understanding is that since my father's account had to be shut down and it is now in my mother's name, we have a new account number. This caused the promotion my sibling was getting on their phone upgrade to no longer be applied and we are now being charged for the phone (was a 'free' upgrade before).

This may be more of a venting post, but it doesn't seem right that our account is all the same phone numbers, lines, etc. except now my father is no longer on the plan and now we get charged? Do we have any options? It feels slimy for Verizon to charge us for our phone upgrade when we didn't break the promotion on our own terms. And we didn't want to keep another phone line open for my father to keep the promotion.

Any help would be appreciated!

Chat support likes to waste my time

I've been a Verizon FIOS customer in multiple locations since it was first available. In one location, they sold it off to Frontier, but in another, it's been 9 years since I've had FIOS. I've decided it's time to get a better speed, but I wanted to see if there was any wiggle room on the price, so I started a chat. I'm over an hour in, and they have come back with nothing. A couple of questions to see if I qualified for first responder or SNAP discounts, but those came at the 30 and 45-minute mark. Other than that, no offers, no suggestions, not even, "I'm sorry there's nothing I can offer". They are literally wasting my time.

Wireless Wi-fi calling while traveling internationally

Context - I have a Pixel 7. Wi-fi calling and RCS are enabled. My phone was bought outright three years ago, and carrier lock is off. I am on the old "New Unlimited Plan" (the $110 one).

I've read the information about wi-fi calling at this link: https://www.verizon.com/support/wifi-calling-faqs/ . I've also read several comments (maybe between 1-3 years old) that people are saying they still get charged or something doesn't work. I don't know what is user error or actual "fine print" details anymore.

Can someone clarify if I have this right? As long as I have wi-fi calling enabled while overseas:

  • Pre-requisite - Turn roaming on my Verizon SIM off.
  • I can use my Verizon number to make calls to the USA at no charge.
  • I can receive calls from a USA number to my Verizon number at no charge.
  • I can both send and receive SMS texts to and from a USA number.

I believe I understand that if I were to call an international number on wi-fi calling then I will be charged whatever fee (i.e. I use my Verizon number to call a location in Scotland) because it's treating it like a domestic to international call. If I wished to use my Verizon number to call a location in ABC country then I would need Travel Pass.

Do I have this right, or am I missing some other detail?

Business Unlimited plans going up by $3/mo in September

In the Verizon Business portal:

Effective September 1, 2025, the Business Unlimited 5G smartphone plans will be increasing by $3/month per line. Plans subject to the increase are the following: Business Unlimited Start 5G smartphone, Business Unlimited Plus 5G smartphone, Business Unlimited Pro 5G smartphone.

I hadn't heard of this until now so I guess I'm spreading the good word.

It seems they really want people to switch to the My Biz plans.

Help reconfiguring my Verizon acct/lines

I haven't invested the time to review my acct in a few years, and I am totally lost with all the diff levels/options. Hoping you guys can help me out.

Currently: 8 lines all on the "5G Start" plan. We are paying $44-$5 autopay discount=$39/ea plus ~$6tax/fees/ea = Total bill ~$365/mo

I will likely need to port 1 line to this account soon for a family member that will be joining, and I have 1 additional line for a teenager that is currently on Tracfone which i would consider moving if its cheap enough/makes sense.

I called and they offered to put me on a plan that will save me $9/line/mo but has no hotspot access. I am the only one that ever uses hotspot, and even then just sporadically-they said i could add hotspot access to my line for $10/mo. This seems like a no brainer to me, but is there anything I should be aware of before making this switch??

How do devices & upgrade discounts work nowadays? All of our phones are older and paid off. I thought they got rid of subsidizing the phone costs with the plan years ago, but now it seems like they are blurring those lines again with some credits you can get? The rep said something about this but I didnt follow.

Lastly, one of us is a nurse and I see that if I add them as an Account Manager the entire account would be eligible for a Nurse discount of $20/mo?

Thanks for the help!!

(I see lots of ppl moving away from VZ-I guess i would consider that if we can save a ton, but I have local friends on T-mobile and their reception sucks, not looking for that. Many of us use our phones for work so can't have sub-par service. We have been with Vz for like 30yrs and been happy with their coverage, they seem to be the best in our area.)

Wireless Weird bug/fix after 2.4Ghz network disappeared

Have the G1100 router. Had a couple power outages recently and after the last one the 2.4Ghz wifi disappeared. I wasn't too worried since I'm on the 5G one. But found out after trying to print something my printer needs the 2.4Ghz. I went to my admin page and saw band steering was off so it wasn't that. All the settings showed the 2.4 was up and running but for whatever reason none of my devices would have it show up or connect to it. I ended up adding a guest network to see if I could get around it and weirdly the original 2.4Ghz popped back up. Just wondering if anybody knows why this happened? Also figured if anybody else has been dealing with this try adding a guest network.

Help

Back in June my bf bought a 16 pro max, decided it wasn’t for him, so he initiated a return for the max and bought a 16 pro. Decided to stick with the max and return the 16 pro. Verizon rep helped him over the phone so he could simply just return the 16 pro and stick with the max. Agreements were fucked up. He paid 1099 in full for his “pro max” but it was technically for the 16 pro. Upon that, the 16 pro that was supposed to be returned was turned in to ups back in June never made it to its destination, and just found out that last week we are getting charged $1500 for the phone.

Package is gone and no where to be found. Can’t file a claim with ups either. Verizon needs the 16 pro to deduct the charges. At this point I’m not sure if I should just pay the entire bill in full and close all my lines. My only mistake was not saving the receipt when I turned in the package. But yeah, anyone have any tips or help? (This was all back in June, and package was turned in on the 25th of June)

Wireless Is it common for reps to suggest removing insurance to lower bill?

I called Verizon a couple weeks ago to see about lowering my bill. I was given $10 off one line (I was supposed to receive $10 off per line months ago but the original rep only did two of my lines). The rep I talked to suggested that I remove all insurance from all of my devices to lower my bill. When I said that I wasn’t comfortable with not insuring my device, I was told that it’s ok because I’m eligible for an upgrade so if I break my phone I can just get a new phone.

I’ve asked if there are any other loyalty discounts that could be used and I was told that I need to wait 7-10 days. When I called back after 10 days, I was told that I now need to wait until September to see if I will get a larger loyalty discount. At this point, I’m ready to go somewhere else.

Barriers to helping customers=barriers to selling

A customer came into the store today asking to switch to the Unlimited Ultimate plan for an international trip. Since plan changes without adding perks negatively affect our store metrics, our management instructs us not to process them in-store. Instead, my co-worker had to direct the customer to either call customer service or use the MyVerizon app.

The same applies when a customer wants to upgrade a phone without adding device protection or a perk. In those cases, we assist them in placing the order through the app and selecting in-store pickup—again, to avoid the negative impact on our performance metrics.

What many Verizon customers may not realize is that every time a rep accesses an account, a sale is expected. For example, if you come in for a new SIM card and your address qualifies for 5G Home Internet, but I don’t sell it to you, I’ll be held accountable by management and have to explain why I couldn’t close the sale. The same pressure applies to High Priority Upgrades and whatever Verizon is pushing that month.

Because of these expectations, we often try to avoid triggering account access 'banners' by encouraging customers to complete transactions through the app or by calling customer care. While this helps us avoid penalties, it slows down the process, causes backups in the store, and can lead to walkouts. Those who do wait often end up frustrated by how long seemingly simple tasks take.

These inefficiencies—created by the company’s own sales pressure systems—ultimately degrade the customer experience. When customers are constantly pushed to use the app instead of getting in-person help, they learn they don’t need the store at all, which reduces foot traffic and sales opportunities. Worse, we risk losing them altogether to app-based MVNOs.

Verizon's internal policies create inefficiencies. Inefficiencies lead to slower service. Slower service harms the customer experience. Negative experiences hurt sales and damage the brand, which makes future sales even harder to achieve.
