This fish one is epic beyond belief.

I don't like the colors but the design is cool.

Agree with the colours. It doesn’t need the two shades of blue, one would look better.

I was thinking white and blue like some of the others are using, only blue would be pretty boring.

And use less muted colors. For some reason a lot of these latest redesigns use these muted and dark shades and it just makes the flags look so drab and I suspect is one of the reasons why a lot of people think they look too corporate and samey.

Really dug a lot of the ones with a cranberry background, shame only a couple seem to have made the cut. Also I feel like a lighthouse is a great symbol for the state but none hit the spot quite right for me.

Are there finalists posted from these submissions?

Maybe they should move the Minuteman so he’s not ominously facing the Native American but otherwise I quite like the last one. It’s the only one that looks it could be a state flag. Most of the others have that corporate logo feel to them.

Edit: Slide #171 has Oklahoma vibes that I quite like.

Is... is one of these just a tree off Getty Images?

And flag 105 is a finalist twice somehow

I'll absolutely get this as a tattoo if I can check with the artist first

The combination of Nova Scotia and Massachusetts would be terrifying. 50% incredibly nice, 50% trash talking you relentlessly. The Kelly Olynyk of subnational entities.

(some gold would be cool)

This is going better than other redesigns. Some genuinely cool flags in this.

Now I'm just jealous sitting here the next state over. Please Ned Lamont, my lord, give unto us a flag redesign.

No idea about the significance of the imagery, but I really like this one (Slide #917):

I like 3rd it seems fun :)

5 looks good. I like the connection with the city of Boston colours.

I like the one with the Indian warrior and the frontiersman. The others feel too corporate or not Massachusettsy enough.

1 and 4

3 is actually great

I like all of these!

For number 6, they should switch the white guy and the Indigenous guy so it doesn't look like the white guy is pointing his rifle at the Indigenous guy. The whole point of the redesign was because of the optics of the sword looking like it was taking a swipe at the Native American. This proposal recreates the whole scenario that inspired the redesign in the first place.

Damn, 1 is a dinger

Honorable mention for 5

1, 3, & 5 take the cake. These redesigns have shown themselves time and time again in different ways, and each time, they work perfectly. I hope any of those get selected, especially 5.

I think the tree shape looks a bit goofy so I think I prefer some of the other designs, from these the last one is the best. But I looked at the link and also liked the very first flag with the lighthouse and the one with the feathers in a circle.

Any news on when the flag will be finalized

1

u/Train115 3h ago

That last one is pretty good, the others are kinda generic but better than the "top three flags" which are incredibly generic.

1

u/I_Am_Robert_Paulson1 1d ago

I like #3 best

1

u/ExistentialTabarnak 1d ago

The last one does not have good vibes.

0

u/LifeOrchid4367 1d ago

I don’t like it when flags have excessive amounts of white on them. White is a passive color that evokes incompetence and weakness.

0

u/Immediate_Guest_2790 1d ago

The pine tree and the colour buff are regional symbols, not just Mess colours.

0

u/whatsreddit78 1d ago

1 and 5 are best imo

0

u/AdImpossible2555 20h ago

I hate 3 and the vertical red stripes. Love 4 and the Sacred Cod.

-3

u/TJ-Detweiler- 1d ago

These are all terrible except for maybe the last one. Why are they changing the flag?

-7

u/LavalSnack 1d ago

The last wouldn't work you'd have too many people whining about the gun pointing at the Indian

We also shouldn't have Indians on the flag, they wrfe conquered them and whatever remains is sub 2% of the whole so no real need to represent them.

-15

u/RogueStatesman 1d ago

Yeesh. The original beats any of these.

6

u/ted5298 Germany 1d ago

The original beats NONE of these besides maybe #2. Please stop being a blind reactionary.

-4

u/RogueStatesman 1d ago

It's not reactionary to dislike ugly stuff.

1

u/SNAKEKINGYO Nevada 1d ago

It's not neseccary to like the current boring design

1

u/RogueStatesman 1d ago

Native Americans are boring? Neseccary is a word?

3

u/Death_and_Gravity1 1d ago

The original is just a seel on a blank canvas. We need less of those in the world
