Discussion I created a new flag for my region, what do you think?
Here is a new flag that I created for my Charentes region in France which brings together 3 former French provinces (Aunis, Saintonge and Angoumois with the islands of Ré and Oléron in particular). It is also the country of Cognac. The Charente identity is closely linked to its geographical characteristics. This is why the flag that I imagined has a gradient of blues (Ocean, estuaries and river) and a gradient of greens (marshes, agricultural land including vineyards). The white rays recall the sunshine of this region as well as the openness to the world with its Atlantic facade and the influence for centuries beyond the borders with local products such as Cognac in particular. These white rays also evoke the multitude of micro-regions which make up the territory and the nature of the soil which is limestone. What do you think of this flag? Is it credible? How could it be improved?

Discussion How you hang your flags horizontally?
I don't know if it is the correct sub (but I don't see any others). My problem is that when you buy a flag, they have holes on the side to hang them on poles, or vertically, but how you guys are hanging it horizontally without making damages?

Historical Help with ID'ing this flag from Ticket to Ride
It seems to represent Ireland on the map, and I know it was occupied by the British at the time. I haven't ever seen this flag though.
Closest I could find was the Order of St Patrick?

OC A suite of new flags!
Hey everyone! A while ago, I made a post about a suite of flags I made to represent a Minecraft server which tumbled into an imaginary nation with a suite of flags that tried to merge Nordic and British flag conventions. I later found out that my design, a blue flag with a white-fimbrated green Nordic cross, was already taken by the Komi people!
I was playing around and I really like blue and green together, and I also really like the Nordic cross. Here is my creation for an imaginary Nordic island-state!
I haven’t decided which swallow-tail should be for war and which for state use, but what do you think?

OC Some interesting maritime flags spotted in the wild
Last weekend I spotted some interesting flags at the SAIL Amsterdam during the sail-out parade. I thought it would be nice to share:
1) flag flown on the Dutch naval ship "KAREL DOORMAN". It displays the text "Follow Me" together with an illustration of an ancient Greek Hoplite. Mind you, this flag was bigger than all the other flags, ensigns, jacks, etc. on that ship. I have absolutely no idea what it is about...
2) flags from Uruguay, Seychelles, and Vanautus. I didn't see any of the guests/tall ships from Seychelles or Vanautus, so I don't know why there were displayed so prominently...
3) flag of the dutch county/municipality Blaricum
4) flag of the dutch province Friesland
5) I have no idea what this flag is. Google lense tells me it's the coat of arms from a French nobleman crusader from the 11th/12th century, called Raymond du Puy. And indeed his coat of arms displayed on Wikipedia looks very similar. But I doubt that he was in Amsterdam last weekend. So I have no idea.
6) same thing. No idea. Maybe some local yacht association.
7) Uruguay
8) Spain
9) Peru. This flag was HUGE. Easily the biggest flag I've ever seen. The picture doesn't do it justice but it was flown on the tall ship "Unión" - a pretty gigantic 4 mast barque
10) Norway (Navy ensign)
