I know Tori kissing Cat's boyfriend was a terrible thing to do. I would be really upset if this ever happened to me but I'd also be somewhat grateful if I were Cat. I mean, now I know that my boyfriend would cheat on me if he was ever given the chance bc Tori didn't force herself on him. They both went for that kiss. Any guy willing to do that isn't worth my time. So if I was Cat I would've definitely ended things there.

Yes but it is the second time the writers made HER kiss someone else's boyfriend intentionally. It's poor character writing to make the main character a cheater if you want people to like them. Most people really hate cheating.

It's not poor character writing to make a character flawed. There are fictional characters that have done worse and are still beloved. It's OK to dislike Tori because of this because by this point she is Cat's friend and has always had a good relationship with her. The narrative never tries to paint Tori as a good person when she does this.

Sure but different intentions. Kissing beck was payback for jade humiliating her, her kissing Daniel was more complex as it seems they still had unresolved history.

Tbf, when Tori first got to the school and kissed Beck, Jade had already decided Tori was her sworn nemesis. They weren’t even friends in a loose sense by that point. When she almost kissed him the second time, he was Jade’s ex. I know, “girl code” and all that, and it clearly mattered to Tori cause she didn’t go for it. But if she had, Beck was still single and able to date whoever he wanted.

Tori didn’t owe Jade anything when she kissed Beck episode one but she does go on to make remarks like “why does she hate me” and try to call them different versions of “friends” or “sort of friends” despite knowing that’s jade’s main grudge against her. My point is she’s in a friend group with her and both girls’ boyfriends she’s kissed which is two higher than usual. It may have been justified revenge but if she’s gonna kiss a girl’s bf she’s gotta know she dug her own grave lol

I agree she didn’t owe anything back then. But even with the grudge Jade, somewhat-understandably holds against her, she still tries to be her friend, which is why she doesn’t kiss Beck again, even though he was no longer dating Jade. I think all-things-considered she tried to be the best friend possible to Jade. Kissing Cat boyfriend was just one of her less-fine moments, as an actual friend.

I wouldn’t say “best” friend possible. She went back and forth with Jade a lot between helping her put up her play or making Jade play a character she knows she’ll hate or not getting her in trouble for faking her black eye or continuing to go through with Prome even though Jade’s play was scheduled for the venue first, etc. Tori makes an admirable effort to be civil towards a girl she shouldn’t have to but it’s not like she’s always trying to be friends with her. I get why Tori did everything she did with Jade but what doesn’t make sense was in the early seasons when she would act like it was confusing that Jade had beef with her.

I guess I mean “best possible” for Jade, who never really made it that easy for Tori to be friends with her. That’s why she would go back and forth, cause Jade was not responsive to it half the time. Tori did her best under those circumstances, but there were many times Jade treated her like more of an enemy than anything else, and Tori just seems to respond in kind. But I do agree that her acting like it was weird that Jade was so resistant early-on, doesn’t make sense, given that she kissed Beck.
