Help My Vita refuses to connect to wifi.

Post image

I bought this Vita at my local flea market yesterday and it was working perfectly, but when I got home I realized its wifi capability just isn’t working. I’ve factory reset 5 times and shut down and turned on about 15 times. And I know the problem isn’t my wifi because my other vita (rip) worked just fine with it, and so does every other device in my home. Sometimes when I shut down and turn on, the wifi setting is off so I turn it back on and it immediately turns itself back off, and the times it does stay on, the Access Points gets stuck on Searching. On the off chance that my wifi does show up, I type my password and it simply refuses to connect and keeps showing me an error. Could this be hardware related? My Vita isn’t hacked either.

Wifi networks nowadays come in 2.4GHz and 5GHz variants. Vita only connects to 2.4GHz wifi networks. You’ll need to go into your router and configure your networks so one of them is 2.4GHz.

Edit: if this is not the issue then your Vita might be broken. So sorry for your loss.

Edit2: did your other Vita connect to the same Wifi router?

I’ve had this exact issue on a vita 2000, and was never able to fix it even after swapping the wifi chip and surrounding components. So I wouldn’t recommend putting much more time into it, as I’m already several hours into mine. You could either never use the wifi and maybe update by connecting to a computer, or swap the motherboard and sell off the defective one for around $30 on eBay.

Update: I updated it via PC and now it connects to wifi SOMETIMES and when it does, I get about 3 minutes of internet connectivity before it loses connection. And I just found out that it’s the same with Bluetooth
