WANTED: ERIK LOSTERIKSONSON
Cursed be the name! A savage of the Norscan wastes, barbaro senza onore, and despoiler of Tilean glory. Bearded like a beast, clad in stink-soaked furs, and bearing the helm of a swine. Last seen upon northern waters, steering stolen grace beneath the foul shadow of a pirate’s flag.
STOLEN: La Gloriosa Cinghiala
Once the pride of the Miraglian shipyards, now defiled by foreign hands! A galleass of noble heritage, adorned with the lion, griffon, and boar—symbols of our indomitable spirit. Her loss is a wound to our honour; her return, a matter of sacred duty.
A ROYAL REWARD OF 500 GOLD CROWNS
To any who shall bring back the Gloriosa Cinghiala to her rightful berth, and deliver the villain Erik Losteriksonson to justice—alive or suitably deceased.
All loyal sons and daughters of Tilea are urged to be vigilant. Report sightings to the Miragliano Harbourmaster or the nearest officer of the Mercantile Guard. The eyes of the Republic are ever watching!

Discussion Enemy Within, Original or Director's Cut

Thinking about running this adventure, have heard a lot of good things over the years. Apparently it was released with some changes for 4e (the director's cut). Is there any consensus on which version is better? Ignoring that they are for different editions since we are using our own homebrewed version anyway.

Announcement Review: The Duchy of Black Rock (from Ubersreik Adventures 2)

This is a review of the chapter on the Duchy from Ubersreik Adventures 2 (since originally I only reviewed adventures in that book, since I owned them as separate pdfs).

General Query Can someone explain the Witch! Talent too me?

Is my understanding correct is thinking that each time I take the talent I learn a single spell of my choosing and can cast it whenever I want by spending a resilience point?

Roleplaying Need some help making the backstory for a Khorne Worshipper OC.

Title says it all. Basic gist is that I have this idea to design a Khorne cultist or possibly champion who's main deal in his backstory is that everything involving him somehow involves the number 8. Since that's Khorne's favored number and while it's not the sole gimmick of the character, it's a thing that keeps coming up either in his backstory or by accident.

So right now his backstory is reading something like "Skathlar the Bloodied, 8th born on the 8th day of the 8th month. Survivor of only 8 from his home village, etc" I feel like I'm really struggling in a lot of spots tbh, especially with his name, aha. I'd mainly really appreciate some possible directions I could take the character since right now I'm imagining this odd take on a Khorne worshipper where they're a lot more quiet, almost mute but extremely deadly once approached. Some articles or reading material on the philosophy of Khorne and worship of him or on Norscan tribes as well would also be highly appreciated! Right now this is all sort of a train of thought so I'll be thankful for any suggestions or advice!

Game Mastering Need some help/advice for new human options

So for the past day or two, I'd been writing a scourcebook (Kinda) For WFRP that explores the far eastern Part of the Old World because I thought it be fun (and also because I've been looking at the fan-made army books for Nippon Kingdoms of Ind).

So far, I've mainly been focusing on creating new human options for characters from Cathay, Ind, and Nippon (since originally, I just wanted to make a character who was Indan), but I'm having trouble with what species skills and talents they would have. Could someone maybe help me choose what Skills and talents would fit each human, as well as provide some feedback? This is what I got so far:

Humans (Cathayan) Skills: Trade (Any), Evaluate, Language (Nipponese), Lore (Cathay), Talents: Craftsmen or Read/Write, 2 Random Talents

Human (Indan) Skills: Charm, Cool, Endurance, Entertain (Storytelling or Dancing or Singing), Haggle, Language (N/A), Lore (Indan), Melee (Basic) Talents: Coolheaded, 2 random Talents

Humans (Nipponese) Skills: Athletics, Consume Alcohol, Language (Cathayan), Lore (Nipponese), Melee (Basic), Melee (Fencing) Talents: Warrior Born or Etiquette (Nobles), 2 Random Skills

Again, I would like any feedback any of you guys provide (I've also been thinking of a optional rule of how people of Cathay, Ind, and Nippon would react to traveling pcs which can have in game affect, same with far eastern in the empire). Thank you and have a nice day! :>

Game Mastering Foundry with a group, some at the table, some via Zoom

Hi all,

I'm looking at Foundry for WFRP. From what I've read in this Reddit it works really well. I've been GMing the Starter Set, and in a few months will begin EiS (some new players and all new characters). A few questions:

Will my 4 players all require their own Foundry WFRP license?

If so, if I have all the add-ons (UiA, EiS, WoM etc) and use those as GM, will they need all of them as well?

I will have 2 players at the table, and 2 attending via Zoom. Is this workable somehow using Foundry do you think?

Lore & Art The Howling Hound - GM Sheet

"Get in, ye fools, lest ye fancy dancin’ with the dead—gates close for good on Hexensnacht, an’ I’ll not be openin’ ’em ‘til morn’!" - Otto Kleist, Steward

A 6-hour coach ride from the nearest settlement, The Howling Hound stands as a lone bastion in the Middenland wilderness. Its ground floor is built from sturdy stone, while the upper level is half-timbered wattle and daub, its aging beams blackened by years of wind and rain. A stout wooden palisade stretches between the buildings, offering some measure of protection from the dangers lurking in the deep forests. A carved wooden sign, depicting a howling wolf, creaks in the wind, beckoning weary travelers seeking refuge from bandits, mutants, and worse.

What are some other good real play Podcasts out there for WFRP?

Game Mastering My player want be a Necromancer

My player want br necromancer

I'm running my first-ever campaign in Warhammer 4e, and one of the players at the table wants to play a necromancer. The problem is that in 4e there are only the spells from the core book, and, theoretically, you don't get the kind of formidable 1st-edition necromancer who becomes cadaverous and death-like in appearance with a vast array of badass spells.

I'm not usually the sort of GM who ban ideas, but it really feels to me that a character in the fourth edition is, at best, a wizard with necromantic leanings — and not much more. How would you handle this process?

(The player is aware that if anyone in the Empire discovers he is practising necromancy, he will be hunted.)

Game Mastering TOW - Characters Getting Paid

Sorry if this question has been posted already, I’ve been reading the new rule books for The Old World and I’m really interested in the money system. It seems like a much more efficient way to keep track of money during adventures but what some idea for giving characters money over the course of an adventure? My one idea was having one of the brass players come across a bag of Gold Crowns in an alley gutter. And if they decide to keep it, have someone some looking for it. Any other ideas?

Game Mastering Adapt wfrpg scenarios to brigandyne

I will soon master my first game sessions where I will use the brigandyne v2 system (on your advice, editor friends) but in Warhammer scenarios (nights of blood to begin with) is there a lot of adaptation to be made from the point of view of the NPCs, experience gains, etc.? Can you give me some advice?

Homebrew Miskatonik for Warhammer

Hi all

Longtime WFB and 40k player here but haven't played WFRP since first edition (but with very fond memories of Power behind the Throne)

I just bought myself the starter set and Core Rulebook for 4th ed and I already love it. I have a lot of the 1st ed stuff digitally from a Humble Bundle from a while ago, and of course the conversion rules, but I'm also looking for some more up to date content

I know Cubicle 7 have some, and I'm all for supporting local and independent (I'm Irish, so that helps!), and I'm already eyeing up my next purchases (I'm thinking Up in Arms and Middenheim). But in the meanwhile, I'm wondering if there's any sites like Miskatonik for Cthulhu (the other RPG I've been playing for the most recent years)

Hit me up with your sites for content!

Game Mastering Which shorter adventres do you like to include in Death on the Reik? Spoiler

My group has just finished the first day of investigation in Shadow over Bögenhafen (4e version) and I guess it'll be another 2-3 sessions (about 2h) until we finish the adventure. We want to do the full Enemy Within campaign, so the next book would be Death on the Reik.

My players already have plans on how to develop their characters and I want to take the second book more slowly and give them time and ways to gain experience and trainers. For that, I would like to include some side adventures (1-3 shot, maybe).

I just looked through the one shots of the Reikland book and I liked Locked-In and Siege of the Walen Temple as they also contain chaos cults and mutants.

I was also thinking of including some adventures from the EiS companion and the DotR companion books, for example introducing Emmaretta the Werecat, or Vengeance of the Gravelord.

I'm also planning to include some nice secrets from Monuments of the Reikland.

But what are your favorite adventures to interweave into DotR (or any other of the Enemy Within books)? I'm fine with 1e or 2e adventures as well, I guess they'll be easy enough to adjust to 4e.
