Announcement New release: Sea Wardens of Cothique

The new High Elf setting guide has arrived!

The official description:

A guide to the land of Cothique including an in-depth look at the port city of Tor Koruali, and the mysterious places and artefacts that may be found there.

Several important High Elf patrons, including Prince Dalloran and his children, Princess Litharys of House Starshard, and Cireon Fleetcrest the Master of the Palace Grounds. The book also gives details of several ongoing interests these individuals are involved in.

Several threats to Cothique and Ulthuan, such as the Norse infiltrator Revna Tharvig, monstrous creatures such as the dreaded Kraken, and the capricious Spite Ceyluii.

Creatures of Ulthuan, including the White Lion, Flamesypre Phoenix, and Swiftfeather Roc.

New adventure hooks and ideas, including a plot by Naggaroth’s most dangerous agent to befoul the rivers of Cothique.

Expanded intrigues, including ideas on how to run a counter-intrigue such as a spying mission, subterfuge of enemy agents, and assassinations.

Interesting, they just quietly announced today Cothique and Sea Lord Ansillin(sp?) for the coming Total War: Warhammer DLC.

Some corrections:
Firstly, Cothique has been present as a minor faction in Total War: Warhammer since 2017 (the introduction of High Elves in Warhammer 2). It is not "coming" to Total War: Warhammer as DLC, as it is already present. Presently, you can't play Cothique without Mixu's Unlocker mod, as Cothique is a minor faction.

Secondly, I have not yet found any source information on the nation origin of Sea Lord Aislinn. I have not yet found a source which explicitly states he is from Cothique.

In the upcoming Total War: Warhammer III Tides of Torment DLC, the name of the playable faction, which Sea Lord Aislinn will be the Legendary Lord for, is yet to be announced. People are speculating that it will be named the Lothern Sea Patrol or one of the Far Eastern Colonies (Ref: https://youtu.be/_Cv9t_UbuGs?si=7Cfiy7yqxFcTZ4TF&t=138). There has been no confirmation from Creative Assembly that Sea Lord Aislinn will be attached to Cothique.

Additionally, objectively speaking, in Total War: Warhammer III it would not make sense to place another High Elf Legendary Lord directly bordering an existing one (Cothique borders Yvresse - where the Legendary Lord Eltharion begins).

All this said, it is highly unlikely that Cothique is the focus of the upcoming Tides of Torment DLC, so the connection to the new Sea Wardens of Cothique book is tangential at best. There's correlation, but correlation causation.
