Traveller's question How big is Budka Suflera?

I’m a traveller and just stumbled across their concert at the Multimedialny Park Fontann. There were a lot of people here and so I’m curious how significant they are to Poland. Their music is really really banging. Many thanks for your insights!

They used to be the biggest. But that was long ago.

One of the most recognizable band of the 70-90s. Krzysztof Cugowski, a former voice, is an absolute legend vocalist.

I think they are somehow similar to bands like Journey in the US - meaning you will know their songs, some are like anthems but they are a band your parents or grandparents generation listen to (and there's a level of cheesiness connected with the fact that even if they had some bangers and legendary songs, their record was like the only audio CD your grandma has ever bought - and they had some great eras <in Budka case the 70's> there were some eras of their work when they were like THE CHEESY BAND <2000's>)

Today well known, but they are a band of an older generation.

Check out how amazingly trippy they used to be sometimes, almost 40 years ago.

About as big as Dire Straits or maybe Aerosmith are in the US.

Only the drummer, Tomasz Żeliszewski, remains from the original line-up.

I saw them in one of the 'days of....' festivals and, whilst not understanding a single word of the concert, it was quite enjoyable.

Others I have seen are T-Love, Peirsi and Lady Pank.

Not at all.

People below 30 probably have no idea who they are
