Buy physical media

u/BajaBlast9 12d ago
I never got rid of my physical media and i'm so glad I didn't. For awhile I did stop buying, but started again. My local library has sales a few times a year. It's part of a friends of group that raises funds for the library. You get good deals on stuff the library no longer uses or things people donate. It's a win-win. Plus thrift shops and flea markets are a good place to look. Not Goodwill, but the local thrift shops. People seem to date better things to them. Also buy nothing local groups on facebook. People giveaway dvds and cds often. Good Luck and share tips if you have any.

In a moment of madness I decided to throw away all my DVD's and I don't think I'll ever stop regretting it.

I've thought about going back to physical media. For a variety of reasons. I just wish they didn't take up so much space.

Even illegal streaming sites get shut down and things become harder to find. I personally am a fan of physical media. Be it music, magazines or movies, I like physically owning something, also, if you do physically own something

yeah man everyone's first instinct when sitting down on the couch after work to watch a movie is "wonder what they've got on Telegram? can't wait to spend 12 minutes waiting for this to download only for it to have czech subtitles that are 2 seconds behind"

How did they ruin anything?

I think they mean because it’s leaving Netflix?

It’s leaving Netflix? That sucks.

The 18-month lease agreement between Netflix and Disney (which was for a bunch of Disney shows, not just White Collar) is coming to an end.
It had been announced from the very beginning that the show would only be on Netflix for 18 months (as would the other shows that were part of this agreement like Lost, HIMYM, etc.).

I’m confused. What’s wrong? That the show is leaving Netflix?

Yeah. People apparently don't get that they aren't permanent 🤷
That's why I bought the series. Now I'll never not have it

I'm in the middle of a rewatch myself. Just saw it's gonna gone by the end of the month. That's annoying.

I'm so mad that I didn't know it was on Netflix. I've been watching on Hulu with all the annoying effing ads and am in the middle of S6! Watching the last 6 epis on Netflix anyway.

If I didn’t already have the entire series on iTunes, and it wasn’t also available on Hulu, I’d be pissed.

Ugh its so annoying when they do this. I started watching psych a little over a month before it left Netflix and I got through like four seasons or something before it got taken down. I love white collar too its too bad its being taken off.

It’s possible the the reboot found a home that’s not Netflix so they may then stream original series 🤷♂️ I’m just projecting a guess, I’m tempted to get the physical media, Walmart has complete series on Blu-ray

I can’t believe this. Why do you have to do this Netflix white collar is like the best show ever. It’s good I am almost finished with it but no rewatches that’s just sad.

Sometimes Netflix will say ‘leaving soon’ to get more people to watch. If they get a lot of viewers they might just leave it. If not yet remove it.
I’ve seen this happen several times with movies they said were leaving & then a couple months later I notice the movie is still on Netflix 🤷♀️

Netflix bought the streaming rights for 18 months from Disney. April 1st, 2024 - September 30th, 2025. This isn't news, really. It was well reported when Netflix started streaming the show again in 2024.
They bought 18 month streaming licenses for a bunch of Hulu shows back then in a big deal that White Collar was only part of (Lost was another of those shows, for example).

I surely hope so because I only purchased Netflix solely for White Collar and Lincoln Lawyer. I will drop Netflix, when White Collar is cancelled.

Oh nooo I’m in season 3 too and my sisters ex canceled the Hulu membership while I was watching it on there. I hope I’ll finish it before they take it off😭

If you google White Collar — it shows that Netflix and other streaming services (minus Hulu) are still considering the reboot.
That’s at least good news because there’s still a chance of it restarting.

Fox (Hulu) owns the rights to the show. Netflix had a streaming agreement with them for 18 months, which is up at the end of September. This kind of thing happens frequently, it's not a marketing ploy to get more people to watch.
It's not uncommon for them to renegotiate streaming deals near the end of the original deal, especially when it's been performing well. So there is a chance it might get extended. If not, it's still on Hulu.
