Anime Pikachu's feats are completely bogus. It has very extensive plot armor, and his abilities change and effect other characters/pokemon differently for plot.
If you base his feats and stats on the games, the only thing he really has on Blanka is speed. All Blanka has to do is get in one hit or grab him and it's over.

I totally agree with the vid on this one.

But that's just the thing. The games and anime are different canons, and you can't mix those. That's one thing people criticize Death Battle for a lot.

How the hell do you know this? In game stats only say how strong a Pokemon is relative to other Pokemon. And even then, the weakest Pokemon can survive a ton of punishment, far worse than a single hit from Blanka.

Even the weakest pokemon can learn HM STRENGTH and move boulders the size of a person. Power scaling alone should make max stat redic.

True (though power scaling doesn't always work). Still, I've always found it funny that the attacks designed to smash rock and slice through trees are considered some of the worst attacks in the game.

I assume how they do it is judging both characters abilities based on their feats in accepted canon.
Then they see how a fight in the real world would play out. This fight won't won't include things like hit points or turn based fighting systems. In all actuality, it's like the anime.
