No, that's not even what I said. I cited that as an argument someone could have against that feat. I wasn't actually making that argument myself. As for trying, how could they? That would be like trying to calculate how strong Mario is from the original Super Mario Bros. game. There just isn't enough there. These games were before complex cutscenes even existed. Notice that most of the feats come from the 3D games. As for using non-canon feats, none of them, besides the moon, were even mentioned in the final verdict. They were there as fluff to make the analysis longer.

They could calculate how fast Super Sonic is (using a big range as it probably wasn't his MAX speed) and then calculate the force needed to stop something that fast dead in it's tracks, they could also find his minimum durability by calculating the force of the missiles in the Doomsday Zone. Those are just off the top of my head, supposedly they should be way better at this stuff.

Probably to avoid being trashed. They were criticized the last time they used a feat from a Genesis game (i.e. Tails lifting 10 Tons).

Do you think they'll get less criticized for using Sonic X and Sonic Boom Knuckles than they will for using his most notable game?

Not saying I agree with doing that, but it's just the most likely thing, IMO
