Well, Dan is looking alright considering the jukebox accident.

Also, the battle was nice. I wasn't really leaning one way or the other.

So, any guesses as to who Amy is fighting?

I'm guessing that Amy is fighting Sakura Haruno, that't the kind of crack matchup we haven't seen on DB in a while. They don't have a lot in common ability-wise, but they have similar obsessive personalities and color schemes, and are both despised by their series' hardcore fanbases. It's a stretch but DB has matched up characters for less.

People will say that Sakura stomps but Amy is ridiculously powerful herself, she can swing her hammer with enough force to punch through solid steel and enough speed to propel herself upwards like a helicopter. Those are the types of cartoonish feats that DB loves to overanalyze since they are actually quantifiable, unlike Sakura's more mystical feats. Sakura still has her self healing though which could be a deciding factor.

Most of the guesse on youtube are obviously hammer based (Harley Quinn, Nora Valkyrie) or pinkie pie. This match up could literally be anyone. I would have a fit if they found a way to make it Amy vs DIO or something like that.

I went with Sakura based on what Ben said at the end of the video, that it would be someone most people wouldn't expect. Someone with a hammer would be too obvious (Harley would fit due to of her similar love-obsessed backstory but she has no way to compete with Amy's speed). DeathBattle likes to match characters up based on vague overlying themes and I think Amy and Sakura have that with the whole pining-for-someone-who-doesn't-want-them thing. And they are both pink and red so there's that.

That's a very good point, yeah. I don't know much about amy, so I'm not sure who is a good or bad match Death Battle might do.

I'm almost certain it's Sakura now based on the hint Ben Singer dropped on his Twitter, a lot of other people seem to think so too

We don't know that. It could be Plank. Seriously though, alright. Sakura's another character I'm not that interested in, but maybe I'll get some delicious fan salt when one loses.

A sakura is a cherry blossom, a type of tree that can also be used as lumber. People believe that the planks are from a sakura tree but it's impossible to tell really. It's an incredibly vague clue that can be interpreted different ways but Ben is known to leave those, the picture of a pair of scissors he used to hint at Dante comes to mind

Ahh. Didn't know about the Sakura tree being used for lumber. Learn something new everyday.

That scissors = Dante thing sounds even worst as a hint.

Pinkie Pie

Please no. Ponk is probably one of the worst FiM characters for battle matchups. Her moveset is almost 100% toonforce and little of it is combat based.

...though she could keep up with Amy given how she can keep up with Rainbow Dash...

I'm glad Rainbow Dash got her win, but I'd be happy if we never got another MLP contestant on Death Battle. Watching Red and Charizard die so horribly was bad enough.

Eh, I saw specifically Ash's Pikachu get blended and imbibed, so I'd get over it. It would be worth it to have them do an analysis of Twilight.

I did get kinda stupid over the Pokémon vs Digimon fight. I'd forgotten about Pikachu vs Blanka. Pinkie Pie seems most likely, but we'll just have to see. I'll try not to get to go overboard on whatever happens.

Actually, Sakura Haruno seems most likely. Thematically similar, and Ben made a hint on his twitter that the opponent would have something to do with wood.

Rainbow, Applejack, Twilight, Discord, Luna and Tirek are the MLP characters that are the most likely to appear in a Death Battle imo.

Maybe Spike, if he fights against Meowth.

Kicking down a tree is her only real strength feat.

Compared to the vast magic that Twilight and Discord are capable of...Applejack is a bit boring.
