Welcome to the Tribunal!

As of now, signups for new submissions are officially closed.

Here’s a quick rundown of how this will work:

For the next week, all characters are under review. If you think a character is not fit for the scramble, here is where you have a final say to air your grievances. Also, this is a good chance to go over the submissions and make sure that the correct name is showing, I have the correct info, etc. I ask that everyone at least take the name under theirs and review all of the submissions.

If you have any problems with characters:

• Create a comment with the name of the character in question, a link to that character sheet, and the username (with /u/, to summon them- /u/mrcelophane, for instance) of the submitter. Then list what questions/problems you have with the character.

• Please be respectful when calling out characters, and remember that you are probably pointing out problems with someone's favorite character/series.

• Please give a complaint about each character a separate reply to make sure that conversations are organized.

• If a resolution is reached that does not require a change on my end, please delete your post so that it removes clutter.

• If a resolution is reached that requires my intervention, please call me out and I will come help out.

If your character is called out:

• First, realize this is not a personal attack. We are just trying to ensure that this tournament runs smoothly for everyone.

• Please address the concerns brought forth. This can either by standing firm and arguing for your character’s inclusion, or by buffing/nerfing the character. Please keep the amount of buffs and nerfs to a minimum. This isn’t a good place to redesign the character from the ground up.

• If it’s agreed that a character cannot work in its current state and can’t be easily edited, replacements from the backup submissions will be issued based on role. If one of your characters is being removed you are free to request a specific backup to replace your submission, otherwise myself or the Co-GM will choose for you.

If you see a problem with the roster:

• Make a post and let me know. Odds are, you will have to resubmit the form with the correct info so if you want to just go ahead and do that and let me know to look for the new entry, that would save time.

• If your problem is that you don't show up in the list, its because you never filled out/submitted the form...just go ahead and do that NOW, assuming that you started your sign up process before this post was created.

In an attempt to help aid the review process, we will be highlighting a section of the submissions each day to focus the lens on a group of submissions. Understand that these submissions aren’t being picked due to any reasoning or bias beyond their position on the list, our goal is to help you focus on specific parts of the submission list each day in the hopes that characters that would normally pass under the radar are given proper scrutiny.

• Armstrong: Seems okay
• Dave: Should be fine powerwise, understanding the character's personality and story is a bit harder, but I think between Shoot, myself, and other Homestuck fans, it should be explainable.
• Conker: Already addressed I believe
• LEGO Spiderman: He's less serious than normal Spidey, which should counteract the minor buff. Might want a second opinion though.
• Blank: To be honest, I don't like the idea of the Love Gun. It's the sort of think Killy is getting removed for, being "too strong on people it hits, useless on people it doesn't. I think some other item/items to give out would be better. Maybe some video game items, based off them being game masters?

• Stevonnie: I still think they might be a little weak, but a second opinion is welcome.
• Twilight Sparkle: Her telekinesis is way too strong. Lifting the bear thing is easily a couple hundred tons with the water tower. She also just seems way too versatile without losing much in the way of damage output, while still having decent speed.
• Iji: Seems okay.
• Littlepip: Discussed, but may still need a second opinion.
• Fuuka: Seems okay.

Will review Wiz&Boomstick and continue onto more people in a bit.

As a replacement drop, how would giving the team the ability to use Blood Destruction (a werebeast ability where reflexes, reaction time, and perception are enhanced for a limited time) for 10 seconds sound? If that's too powerful, I could say it's limited to 1 team member per round.

How much of a buff is the werebeast boost? Cause if that alone would let a regular man beat batman, its going to let the more powerful receivers end teams in one go.

It's certainly powerful in its own right, but it only happens for a limited time even in the show. 10 seconds is a long time for a fight in the scramble, but I doubt it will be anything that decides the winning blow. Even then, Blank defeats two people at two different times that used that ability, so while it's a great ability, it's only as good as the people in control of it. Alone, it would not be enough to defeat batman, just gives an advantage.

I just remember when the Miko used it, she generated a shock wave just by activating it, so it feels like a place of risk.

Perhaps. I just worried about all applied boosts, like with 7th and Rias. Static boosts run the risk of being not to helpful, while multipliers turn pretty much anyone into a team crusher.

My reasons for selecting it are such:

• Blank should be able to utilize it to the best of their ability.

• It's not a deal breaker, as it can only happen once per person per round.

• It happens for a limited time, so it's unlikely to be the winning factor.

• Gives the team a small boost, which could come in handy in a pinch.

• The person has the choice to not use it. If they don't like Blank, they might not listen.

• It's not a multiplier. Just enhances reflexes, reaction speed, and perception.

• Does not bolster strength.

For these reasons, I think it would be a balanced ability that gives a good advantage without being too powerful and mean an automatic win. And if it is, the variables can be shifted to where only one team member gets it per round, to shortening the time they can activate the ability, to how many times it can be activated. Does that make sense?

I'm afraid the points don't. To the best of their ability means they work with what they've got, and if they have a team member that doesn't listen, they have to work with that as well, to the best of their ability. If the person doesn't want to use it for whatever reason, they have to work with that. They probably could anyway.

I don't feel like 10 seconds is too much, but if it is, I can easily change it. Not a big deal.

Werebeasts were famous for being rather vicious in the war, and are greatly stronger and faster than your average human. After all, they're two ranks ahead of humans on Disboard. Saying a werebeast is humanish is like saying your average person is infantile. On top of that, the love gun bullets do NOT move as fast as regular bullets. If they did, what Blank did would not possible, as they are quick, but not bullet timers. They were able to act quick enough to know where the bullet would be, so they were fast enough to pull the trigger. So it make an already above peak human character below bullet timing abilities.
