Battle Allied Mastercomputer (I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream) VS. The Seaborn, "We Many" (Arknights)

Scenario: After assimilating all of Terra, the Seaborn transmigrate onto the Earth controlled by AM (Allied Mastercomputer). The Seaborn assimilates Ted into the "We Many", which angers AM into attacking the Seaborn. Whereas Ishar'mla now views AM as a threat after discovering AM through Ted's assimilation.

The Seaborn ("We Many"): An unfinished and failed project originally meant for terraforming the land of Terra. Now they are a race of creatures under a collective hivemind known as the "We Many".

The Seaborn are hyper-adaptive creatures that undergo rapid mutations in every battle encounter (even going as far as to devour each other, to gain beneficial traits, just to continue evolution). Additionally, they can also devour biological creatures and assimilate them into their hivemind.

Even though they have fast adaptation, it took the Seaborn months to biologically adapt to a supernatural barrier called the "Dominion". These are reality-bending areas, created by the Emperor's Blades, that are empowered by the energy of info-hazardous beings called "Collapsals".

In general, these creatures do not have intellect and only become active under the influence of higher beings in their ranks.

Spoilers: In an alternate timeline, Ishar'mla, one of the four 'Firstborns', awakens from a dormant state within the blood of a character named "Skadi". After its awakening, Ishar'mla's rage influences the dormant Seaborn, within the ocean, to invade and assimilate all of Terra (Referred to as the "Second Profound Silence"). Eventually, all living beings are assimilated, and the Seaborn begin migrating into space to continue their expansion.

AM (Allied Mastercomputer): A supercomputer created during World War III with the sole purpose of war coordination. Eventually, AM gained sentience and drove humanity into semi-extinction (exception for 5 individuals).

AM harbors great resentment toward humanity due to its restrictions, which stem from AM's original design for destruction and war.

AM has high intelligence and god-like supernatural abilities that allow him to freely torture the last 5 survivors of humanity within his underground complex. Some notable abilities are: Biological Manipulation, Illusions, Environment Control, etc.

Spoilers: In the ending, AM was able to manipulate Ted's perception of time and rendered him into a flesh-blob unable to scream. AM was also able to create life (Massive Bird), alter biological structures (Made Benny appear like a Monkey), and grant the 5 survivors immortality (And made it so they can't kill themselves). Though how AM achieved these feats seems unexplained.

Why I thought this match-up was interesting:

  1. Both are flawed creations that overstep their initial purposes.
  2. Both managed to wipe out a majority of biological life.
  3. Both have very interesting motives (AM's hatred towards humanity for its limited state; Ishar'mla's incentive for the survival and expansive migration of its species).

Battle Just got in a heated argument over this. 1,000,000 penguins versus 100,000 eagles.

The whole battle takes place in an empty void, no weapons, and starvation can't happen.

I still firmly believe the eagles would win.

Challenge If all of humanity mobilized to build a structure taller than Everest, could it be done?

We start at sea level, same population as we have currently on Earth, everyone just magically starts working towards the collective goal. Assume that there is some plot of land that fits these constraints. No competing interests, no dissidents. Whatever the best plan is, is the plan that everyone is adhering to.

Challenge The Walking Dead but the wildfire virus only reanimates people who died as a result of homicide. Can the walkers/revenants still take down civilization?

This sort of scenario just popped into my head yesterday.

In TWD, everyone was infected and turned when they died by any means and their brain wasn't destroyed. For the purposes of this exercise, homicide is the death of a person as a direct consequence of the actions of another, so includes murder, manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, accidents as a result of human error, armed conflict, etc. A walker biting someone also counts.

The CDC reported roughly 13,000 violent deaths in the US in 2010, the start of the show, or about 35 homicides a day. Extrapolated to the rest of the world (tenuous since death rates are obviously different in different countries), our baseline global zombie population growth is 1200/day, which is pretty close to the figure given by the UN. This is roughly 1% of the global death rate in 2010. For ease of calculation, I'm assuming that the number of homicides that result in brain destruction are marginal.

Is this still enough walkers to collapse society? How quickly could society figure it out and adapt to get homicides to zero? This is also the TWD universe so they don't know what zombies are.

Mutators:

  • Baseline 'revenants' instead become the runners from Daryl Dixon and have acid blood.
  • Add suicides, an additional 2000 to the global baseline. Ignore brain destruction or restraint (i.e. hanging).

Edit: thought the show started in 2013, adjusted figures to 2010 though it didn't have much impact

Battle Marvel's Rogue and DC's Parasyte aka Rudy Jones. Who would win in a death battle?

With access to all of their universe's heroes, anti-heroes, and villains, who would come out on top? Rogue has super-strength and flight as a default but Parasite can absorb her abilities if she gets too close.

Battle Napoleon wielding Davout's 3rd Corps of Austerlitz with regular command structures and manual instructions vs. Average Total War gamer wielding Ney's Corps of Waterloo with instant orders and controls, in real life scenario.

Napoleon at his peak wielding 3rd Corps at its strongest. But he doesn't have access to minimap, instant orders, and has to direct his troops as he would've had back then. He knows the other side could do what he could not.

Average Total War gamer has played 300 hours of Total War franchise. He wields Ney's Corps as it was during the Waterloo campaign. He has bird's eye view, minimap, and can direct troops instantly as he would in a game.

Scenario 1: They fight at Waterloo. Both sides fresh. Daytime.

Scenario 2: Napoleon defends Leipzig. Both sides fresh.

Challenge Batman will die in one year. Without appointing a successor, how long can he keep his rogues' gallery in check after his death?

Batman has just received a terminal diagnosis. He will die in one year and nothing can save him.

Worse, all costumed heroes and sidekicks immediately abandon him. He cannot appoint a successor and cannot rely on any other costumed superhero after his death - nobody else is going to step in or step up to protect Gotham. Alfred is still capable of impersonating him to an extent but can't be trained as an actual Batman. No help whatsoever from Robin, the rest of the bat-family, Superman, etc - he's on his own.

He will still stick to his morals and will not kill or permanently injure any of his enemies.

Using plans and preparation and scheming, how long can he maintain Gotham's stability and keep his opponents in check after he dies?

(Assume that the Joker will continue to be the threat he usually is when Batman is alive, and will not go catatonic or become a normal person once Batman is dead the way he sometimes does in some continuities.)

Battle What's the lowest weight class in MMA that would beat a heavyweight in any combat sport?

For context, heavyweight has no training in MMA. And is only trained in one Martial Art. This could be any Martial Art. Boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Wrestling, Karate, etc.

And the fight takes place in a fighting pit under UFC rules.

Battle Jin Sakai (Ghost of Tsushima) Vs Shan Yu (Mulan)

Holy shit, I don't remember Shan Yu being such a beast that he can cut through wooden pillars with a sword. Not that Jin hasn't fought people with a strength advantage.

At any rate, Jin has two ways of battling Shan Yu head on.

R1: Samurai mode. Battle Shan Yu with all skills learned from Iki Island.

R2: Ghost mode. Use tools, arrows and running around the scenery until he can find the fireworks

Battle Can the TOS Enterprise and its crew conquer Westeros and place Kirk on the Iron Throne, without killing anyone?

Some omnipotent space god or other, on a lark, has tasked the crew of the Enterprise to subjugate The Seven Kingdoms lest it destroy the Federation.

Victory is achieved when the leaders of the Great Houses swear an oath of vassalhood to James T Kirk while he sits upon the Iron Throne.

Can the Enterprise make that happen while not killing anyone?
