Cross border fees

The car company are asking I prepay my cross border fees to enter Georgia. They need special permission. Is this a scam or the truth??

Yeah, you need an extra car insurance. If my memory didn’t disappoint me, it was either 20k or 10k from Sixt…if it’s your own car, you can do it yourself at the border(there are some offices that sell insurances cheaper than rental companies).
