โ€œMy lawyers advised me to not finish this jokeโ€ yeah because saying slurs is illegal

I mean, just because a lawyer advises you not to say something, it doesn't necessarily mean it's illegal. It may just put you in a bad position.

since when was saying slurs illegal?

it's morally and socially wrong to say them but since when was it illegal?

Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m saying. Sure, saying one means you suck, but you can still say them.

I agree. The only way i can think of it being not good on your side legally is if you are being sued for a hate crime and they have evidence of you saying slurs you are not gonna win over that jury

Atleats here in Finland where I live saying slurs can be considered a crime (as it can be seen as defamation)

Hate crimes are criminal offenses against people because of a bias, and saying a bad word is not a criminal offense

Why are people downvoting you? You're correct.

Just being right doesnโ€™t mean itโ€™s a positive thing that people like, but in this case Iโ€™m not too sure

The lack of critical thinking. Lawyers can and do often give advice of what not to say to keep your professional credibility good, which can keep you out of financial instability.
