Has anybody read this fic?

A few years ago I read a super long fic called I’ve built my life around you. It’s disappeared from everywhere which I was sad about and I’ve never seen anyone talk about it. It was basically about Sokka going to the fire nation and staying with Zuko and they were both really struggling. I think it started as him going to kyoshi island and then having a panic attack and he ends up leaving without telling anyone.

The author's note about them "knowing this fic isn't good" kinda of scared me off a little bit hahaha, but I'll definitely give it a try! Thank you!

I can see why they would worry about/think that, but it ticked every box for me. I actually didn’t read it for the longest time despite loving the tags because of the prologue. Honestly you can skip it and go straight to the first chapter. It gives context but is written completely differently than the rest of the fic

Yes!!! It’s such an amazing fic. I recommend downloading it so that you don’t have to worry about it disappearing completely. I have it downloaded on both my computer and phone. It’s such a great fic I’d print it out if it was doable for me haha

Holy shit!! Subbed and up to date on your fic, it’s so cool to find authors in the wild :D I believe I’ve left a comment, but just in case I forgot, I love your fic sm!!! I find it such an interesting au, and something I needed, because it’s such a reasonable depiction of Zuko. Ruling over a priorly genocidal country with years of trauma is not really the recipe for a happy ending, and I love post-canon angst for that reason. Also, as a mentally ill person myself, I do love to do a little projecting on my favourite characters, they can be rife with issues, as a treat :)

You have no idea how happy this comment made me!! I think a lot of the fic for me is a combo of projection and just realism. Like this boy is obviously not well
